Arsenic Al was the drummer in an out-of-town small-time band called Rabies before he found himself stranded in the zombie-infested city of Malton. Rabies had just gone on tour for the first time, and decided to go to Malton first. They heard rumors about zombies in the city on their way there, but figured it was some sort of hoax.

So their tour bus neared Malton, and they saw it surrounded by an army camp. Bewildered, they drove into the camp to ask what was going on. Unfortunately, one of the soldiers was edgy. He opened fire on the tour bus, causing it to swerve out of control and crash violently through a barbed wire fence that surrounded that part of Malton.

Zombies lynched the tour bus and knocked it over. When Arsenic Al woke up he was lying on the ground far away, with a hangover and no memory of anything after the bus crashed. He quickly realized that he was surrounded by zombies, found himself a fireaxe and started killing.

At one point he got a job as an employee of McZeds, but soon decided the job wasn't all it was cracked up to be. He left to defend to see the many sights of the not-so-fine city of Malton, and to get away from the sort of raving lunatics that actually eat zombies. He still, strangely, supports McZeds, however.
