Since I made my first character in March 2006, I've had many alts in Urban Dead. I made this wiki account specifically for my character Dr Ransom, in order to post his linguistic samples of zombie speech. You can read about my other alts here.

Dr Ransom

Dr Ransom was once a living linguist who set out to study zombie language, but found it was easier to get speech samples if he became a zombie himself. He never did finish writing that paper on Zombie Pidgin English (ZPE), but he did collect a large corpus of field recordings of zombie speech.

Dr Ransom was once co-leader of his own little horde, JPS. He fondly remembers dragging a survivor kicking and screaming out of the upper left corner of Caiger Mall the day it finally fell. His group performed in the Broadway Zombies' production of the R!ahn G!ng, playing the hyenas.

In 2024 Dr Ransom became a member of Babble Rabble, and was delighted to meet such a horde of chatty zombies who gave him a constant stream of linguistic samples. He didn't even have to worry about turning on his audio recording equipment, because the Babble Rabble record themselves!

Dr Ransom was prone to shenanigans, which included:

• I made several memes about tassajaramonk and we broadcast a link to them on the radio. When he wouldn't look at them, Dr Ransom went and described each one to him in game.

• Ransom helped to take over CORAM and do some Babble Rabble radio broadcasts.

• For reasons I can't even explain, Dr Ransom developed a passion for lighting harmanz on fire with fuel and flare guns. This is the list of everyone Dr Ransom ignited:

Ransom really loved his frenemies. His OG frenemy was Fishel of the Fortress. Since coming back in 2024, his frenemies in order of appearance have been tassajaramonk, Barnah Flatts, Tarkenton, and William Bristow. Manah hagz mah hranz!
