About The User
- RD is currently a member of the MPD and working towards their greater goal of achieving a safer Malton for survivors everywhere, whether it be through establishing safehouses, securing resource points, or putting a slug in the occasional undead. He advocates fair play, despises zerging and spying, and generally is not a player killer fan.
Character Background
- R.D.'s father was a cop of some renown, and Denton grew up with a bad boy disposition, not being one to simply follow in his father's footsteps. This landed him into some trouble as a young man, and for awhile it seemed as though he was aimless in life. After the death of his father in the line of duty, Denton joined the police force at Dempsey Grove station in Roftwood district. Partly due to his father's reputation, he rose in the ranks quickly, but partly also due to his budding interest in the police force, in justice, and his once-hot temper was subdued in his quest for fairness and peace. Finally finding his direction, everything seemed on track.
- It was during his training that he met Sable Maiara again. They had been acquaintances in high school, but as adults they become close friends, finding in each other similar interests and drives in life. The relationship progressed quite quickly, but Sable’s enlistment in the armed forces put some time and distance between them. It was in this absence that they realized their feelings for each other, but duty demanded that they keep their courses for now. Life moved on as she weathered Basic and he continued his duty as a police officer. Denton failed the review for CO19 twice during this time, owing to his recurring depression and sense of loss with Sable so far away. His fellow officers tried to console him, but he became brooding and restless, drinking and spending far too much time at the firing range with his father’s Colt.
- Just when things were starting to look down for R.D., Malton was struck with something far worse than anyone could have anticipated.
Outbreak
- The quarantine left Malton in a state of chaos, and R.D. was among the cops working to reestablish order. The Dempsey Grove station was detached to watch over the nearby Eligius General Hospital. Roftwood’s police presence was significant, and the district itself became part of a survivor safety zone for some time. However, the hordes of undead were too numerous, and the stability of the district eroded over time. At first, the preoccupation of fending off zombies and saving civilians appealed to Denton and even distracted him from his depression.
- The months passed though, and hope was all but abandoned. He had heard nothing of some of his friends, and every night the moans of the undead kept the survivors awake. Crime was still prevalent, and the Dempsey Grove police department lost more members until finally the station was disbanded following a particularly bad zombie attack. R.D. remained behind, still keeping an eye on the area and even helping at Eligius until he received news via a radio broadcast that Sable’s unit was already in Malton. Realizing there was nothing left for him in his home of Roftwood and desperately wanting to see her again, he embarked on a trip south west to her last known whereabouts.
- The trip was long, and he spent much time alone, preferring not to socialize or stay near lone survivors for any great length of time. The search carried on, but during his travels R.D. came across the Malton Civil Defense Unit. Impressed by their idea of protecting civilians and retaking Malton, he enlisted, feeling that it was a direction he believed he should take. Roftwood may have fallen apart, but this group could change the fates of other suburbs. They gave him direction, and he headed further west to help liberate Owsleybank.
- En route, R.D. and Sable were reunited by surprise in the Anning Building, Reganbank. Both had been sent on the same mission, and as if Fate itself had ordained it, they found each other again. Vowing never to separate again, the two continued to work very closely together. Like true soulmates, they complimented each other in their efforts and to this day continue to work side by side.
Present Happenings
- Having completed his missions with the DEM academy and graduated with honors from Red Thresh academy, even having the honor of being Acting Lieutenant during his tenure there, R.D. once again became constable. Satisfied with the aims of the DEM and content in his role in this new Malton, both he and Sable decided to join the MPD after weighing their options, so that they could work again with those they had worked so well with during their time at the academy. This opportunity also allowed them to revisit old haunts and restore buildings previously seen in shambles.
- R.D. was promoted quickly through the ranks of his new district, and is still active in the area, working with various branches to stabilize the five suburbs under his jurisdiction.

Weapon of Choice
M1911 Pistol
- The M1911 is a single-action, semi-automatic pistol (handgun) chambered for the .45 ACP cartridge. It was designed by John M. Browning, and was the standard-issue side arm for the United States armed forces from 1911 to 1985, and is still carried by some U.S. forces. It was widely used in World War I, World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. Its formal designation as of 1940 was Automatic Pistol, Caliber .45, M1911 for the original Model of 1911 or Automatic Pistol, Caliber .45, M1911A1 for the M1911A1, adopted in 1924. The designation changed to Pistol, Caliber .45, Automatic, M1911A1 in the Vietnam era. In total, the United States procured around 2.7 million M1911 and M1911A1 pistols during its service life.
- The M1911 is the most well-known of John Browning's designs to use the short recoil principle in its basic design. Besides the pistol being widely copied itself, this operating system rose to become the pre-eminent type of the 20th century and of nearly all modern centerfire pistols.
