DESCRIPTIONTall and athletically built, Smades long ago shed the extra weight that he carried before the outbreak. His "uniform" consists of comfortable street clothes (usually trainers, jeans and a t-shirt) and his trademark black hooded sweatshirt. The back of the sweatshirt bears his skull & scroll logo and down the right arm are a series of home-made patches from the various groups he has travelled with during his stint in Malton. PHILOSOPHYSmades has always been a good natured fella' and even the dead rising has done nothing to sour his mood or trample his sense of humor. Much of his time since the outbreak has been spent with pro-survivor groups, doing what he can to fight back the zombie menace and make Malton a better place. Now, after being mercilessly gunned down and having his treasured Xbox stolen Smades' focus has gone from urban reclamation to vengeance. It's bad enough that there are zombies out there but humans killing other humans (and taking their video game systems)? Well, that's a problem that is in need of a solution. BACKGROUNDBefore the outbreak and subsequent quarantine Smades was living the bachelor high life, working as a graphic designer for one of Malton's premier magazines. As far as lifestyles went our boy Smades seemed to have things on lock-down. Then the infection struck. With the power to Malton cut and its citizenry struggling to avoid the undead menace the need for fancy ads and mad desktop publishing skills became nonexistent. Never one to sit back and twiddle his thumbs, Smades buckled down and began the slow and painful process of training his mind and body. He would do everything in his power to become the kind of citizen Malton would require if it were ever again to become a civilized metropolis capable of sustaining not only one graphic designer but human beings of all occupations! Plus, if Smades ever hoped to get his Xbox working again someone was going to need to get the power back on. Years went by during which time Smades traveled with a number of pro-survivors groups. Malls were retaken, hordes turned back and a good time was had by all. Having done what he considered "his share" Smades settled down in a nice lit corner of Malton with his treasured Xbox, content to retire in peace and quiet. Then one night, during a marathon session of Halo, that peace was disrupted. The door to his apartment splintered and through the wreckage stepped three men, their faces hidden behind Halloween masks. Smades stood up from his lounge chair and before he could get out a single word he was met with a shotgun blast to his chest. He flew backwards landing on his coffee table, crumbing the frame and shattering the glass. The villains stepped over his body, laughing as his last breaths left his body as a quiet moan. Smades' eyes grew heavy, the edges of his vision tinged with crimson. Just as they began to close he got one last look at his attackers as they finished unhooking his Xbox from the television! As is typically the case in Malton, it was not long before Smades stood, his body having assumed room temperature. He shambled out of the apartment building, crashing down numerous flights of stairs, before eventually being found and revived by a good Samaritan. When he regained consciousness Smades knew that going back to the apartment was pointless unless it was with his beloved Xbox. No, the time for sitting around in his underwear playing video games was over...there was scum to hunt. MISC
