Zombie Decorations

SIM Core Map.png Swiers 08:58, 1 February 2008 (UTC)

Suggestion type
improvement

Suggestion scope
ransack / ruin, flavor

Suggestion description
mechanics:

  • Whenever a zombie ransacked (or ruined) a building, a "zombie decoration" would be created in that location. This is the only way they could come into play.
  • To reflect this "decoration", the building description would include a new item, similar to a decoration.
  • As with normal decorations, there would be a limit on how many can be present in a building. 10 should be plenty, as a building can only be ransacked so many times before it its ruined and can be ransacked no farther.
  • The item type would be of a damaged (cracked, scuffed, etc) version of what goes into building barricades in that building, and would be described as blood flecked, blood splashed, or gore covered if bodies were present (depending on numbers of bodies- more bodies = more blood) at the time of its creation.
  • As with survivors and decorations, zombies could not remove "zombie decorations".
  • Survivors could remove these items using a "clean building" button, similar to how zombies can smash decorations.
  • Removing these items would be impossible as long as the building has zombies in it, similar to how zombies can not smash decorations while survivors are present.

effect:

Gives ruined buildings a bit more flavor. This gives survivors something to spend a few AP on (or not) after they get a building otherwise cleaned up, but also can provide them with some useful information. The presence of "zombie decorations" in an otherwise safe looking building you just moved into would be a rather certain sign of recent zombie attacks- either that, or a sign of some very poor house-keeping!
