Grigg News
If you want to add news to the GH main page then do it. Griggs used to have a pretty interesting news feed. But dont go changing my OWN postings to suite your own needs. Especially when the post i made in question is a month old at the time. It was relevant news, hence i put it in myself. The Totes DID return, the Totes DID wreck building after building (as well as several pinata's) and we updated the wiki as we went along. Thats not to say zombiefark didnt help. Quite the opposite. However there was no need to edit my post the way you did. I dont mean to come off hostile, but you change my own words and that is upsetting.
I do hope to see you guys around GH in the future tho and would love to raid with your group as well :D --Jackson 5 21:48, 25 May 2013 (BST) of the Lebende Tote
- Second time: please don't adjust someone else's posts but add your own to the news section. Why?
- It's rude.
- It results in a loss of data (because you remove someone else's info)
- The date on your post is wrong
Also: learn to use the signature option: put ~~~~ after your post and it'll add your signature and timestamp automatically. PB&J 19:53, 29 May 2013 (BST)
Hey there, Ephraim, your actions have been brought to the attention of the system operators (of which I am one). It is very important that you never remove or alter the signed post of anyone else, such as on Suburb News. The signature serves to prove that the statement came from the user in question, which gets foiled by altering the text. If you persist doing this, you can and will receive escalations in the vandal banning system, which result in timed or even permanent bans being applied to you.
Rather, if you think that they are outdated, add new news to the suburb page. If you think that suburb news are factually incorrect, it is best to discuss this with the user in question or on the talk page of the suburb. As last resort, there is Arbitration, but then you should be very certain that you are right. If you have any questions on this, feel free to hit my talk page. -- Spiderzed█ 20:25, 29 May 2013 (BST)
- Just to chime in as another sysop, there's nothing wrong with disputing someone else's version of the facts (we all have had to do it at some point), but when you do, you need to act in the best interests of the wiki as a whole, rather than your personal interests. In your case, you replaced one of Lebende Tote's comments with your own, which is not acceptable, since signed comments belonging to others should almost always be left alone. That said, you are very welcome to contribute your own rendition of the situation on the ground in addition to theirs, so long as you present your information neutrally when it's on public pages such as Grigg Heights or the Merson Building. That's really the key takeaway here.
- It's also worth pointing out that dates may play an issue here (I wasn't there, so I can't say), since you began posting news for your group in May, but Lebende Tote had posted its news way back in early April, suggesting, at least to me as an outsider, that you both might have done what you claimed, but at different times. I may be wrong, but it's something to consider, at the very least. —Aichon— 22:09, 29 May 2013 (BST)
- Zombiefark has been working in Griggs for quite some time now, that's a fact. But in April the LT moved back into town from a trip down south. At the time the Mrh?son i believe was already sacked but the LT never claimed to have any part in it. We did however organize strikes on numerous buildings. And at least on the majority of the buildings we hit we were the first ones in the door. GH was a pretty safe place and over the course of a few weeks the LT ruined building after building. Then in mid May we left to head north for the FU picnic and i left a little note on the GH news about the number of ruined buildings since i updated the wiki (with our own sackings and observations) as we went along. Thats pretty much the time line. If anyone is interested we got probably most of all the juicy details here [1] :D --Jackson 5 23:54, 29 May 2013 (BST)
I have been working with wiki for several years in other games. Unfortunately, I find the coding rules to be rather non-intuitive unlike other paradigms (I'm not a coder by trade). With regard to LT. They laid claim to our achievements in Grigg Hights. I check back on our forums and it was early in January (the 4th to be precice) when we moved into the area. I was there as part of the group tho took, ruined and have continuously held Merson. Again I can look back at our forums to find that on April 6 the cades were up, we tore them down and have since occupied the building. No one from our guild has even seen LT in the area. If LT claims that they took Merson, the cades were rebuilt and WE took them down two days later. Sorry if I stepped on someones toes, but it pisses me off when someone takes credit for something we worked months to achieve. Ephriam 22:01, 22 June 2013 (BST)
- Show me one single place where the LT took soul credit for doing anything? Show me a place where we took credit for ANYTHING lol. I made a simple statement "the LT are back in town" seeing as we have worked on and off in the area since 2005 it was something to note. Then i stated later that the town was in ruin but never said who did what, simple that it was wrecked. Outside of that i just updated the building reports as we went along and with what i saw and left them all VERY generic "building broke into, X killed X inside". If you are pissed that other zeds are in the game then you need to get out more. But never, as you put it, did we "take credit" for your accomplishments. Even times when one of our members Pinated a building i left the building status reports very neutral. All in all i did nothing that would warrent the changeing of my postings, or even that should have ruffled feathers. Malton, and even Grigg heights, is big enough for two.
- And of course, these comments are purely my own and do not speak for how the rest of the group feels.--Jackson 5 03:26, 23 June 2013 (BST)
