Wouldn't you want to name it User:Tommythompson/Tommythompson? --Haliman - Talk 23:01, 3 December 2009 (UTC)
Your...signature?
I was just over at the Recruitment page and saw your group's advertisement there. The ad had a minor error that I fixed up for you, but I needed to mention that your signature, however it is that you're inserting it, seems to be broken. Specifically, you used the following code:
{{User:Tommythompson}} --[[User:Tommythompson|Tommythompson]] 02:22, 4 December 2009 (UTC)
The problem is the {{User:Tommythompson}}
part. What the {{...}}
does is try to insert whatever page is specified inside of the curly braces into the place where you put that line of code. In the case of the Recruitment page, what that meant is that your entire user page was inserted into the page, such that all of that stuff about cadavers killed showed up on there. It also kinda screwed up the layout of the page when it happened, and messed with the table of contents. To say the least, it had to be cleaned up, so I switched your signature to:
--[[User:Tommythompson|Tommythompson]] 02:22, 4 December 2009 (UTC)
For future reference, if you want to use your signature, the proper way is generally to type in four tildes (e.g. ~~~~
; check the help page for more info). If that's what you've been doing all along, then you might have set up a templated signature that has an error in it, so we'd need to investigate that. Either way, there's an error in your signature, and it'd be really nice if you could investigate it and get it sorted out. Thanks! —Aichon— 05:21, 8 December 2009 (UTC)
