Description

"You are standing outside Veal Lane Police Dept, a derelict metal-and-glass building with a curved roof."

History

The Veal Lane Police Department is located in the South-Eastern most corner of Roachtown. Found in the storyed Roachtown ghettos, rumors of corruption and abuse of power were rampant.

Originally built in 1966 by the city of Malton, The Veal Lane Police Department was built on a shoestring budget. The belief at the time was that Veal lane would serve as an outpost and CB radio relay station, although many community leaders voiced opposition to this meager committment, claiming racial and economic prejudice. The budget did not change, and in the fall of 1967, Veal Lane Police Department was officially opened.

Charges of corruption and bribery surfaced in the mid 1970's. In 1978, the first of what would be many internal investigations began regarding several officer involved shootings. Charges mounted in particular against two MPD officers who were charged with murder, obstruction and bribery. True to the cliche' witnesses began to recant their testimonies; and the case against the officers crumbled. A&E did an episode of City Confidential many years later documenting the two officers. Claims of evidence tampering, bribery, extortion, blackmail, drug dealing, prostitution, toture and murder would pop up in the rumor mill from time to time, but Malton paid little attention to the ghettos of Roachtown or their stewards.

Currently, Veal Lane sits on the divide between Roachtown and its heavily infested neighbors.

Note: On July 3rd of 2005 during the "Malton Incident" the prisoner Civil Death was supposed to attend lethal injection for the first trial with the newly created drug MRSA for his convictions at Veal Lane Police Department. It was unsuccessful as he escaped police custody.
