Perryn!: The official mission was to retake Fort Perryn from zombie hands began on August 6th, 2008. I would estimate that it was some 150-200 zeds holding the fort at the time that Whiskey and Omega Platoons showed to help out. We used the Malcolm Building as our staging point. After almost two weeks of fighting, Omega was recalled to help defend Shearbank against rising threats, and Whiskey was ordered to stay and continue fighting for the Fort. For a while it seemed like no one was making any headway towards retaking the Fort. Then, on September 10, after 12 days from when Omega left, the survivors, along with Whiskey, finally got a hold in the fort. It has now been 13 days since then, and the Fort has remained lit, caded, and in survivor hands. In total, Whiskey amassed a total of 63 zombie kills, between Commanding Officer Airheadoh, Executive Officer Fanglord2, recruits Karya Versa and Ryushi. Whiskey's resident medic, Harman Black had 22 heals along with 23 revives during our stay at the Fort. The most astounding part is that for a platoon made of all new players, trying to attack a zombie stronghold, we had less than 5 deaths total. Half way through this operation, Whiskey was able to gain a few more recruits. Dark Blue Helmet, Rohanzap, and L3wis1 joined up with the rest of the Whiskey Platoon during the final days of this operation. In my opinion, the survivors at Fort Perryn are currently able to hold the fort without us being there anymore. It's time Whiskey came home. Mark this one in the books as a win, gentlemen. -September 23, 2008 Operation: Bale In: This was a joint mission between Omega and Whiskey Platoons. The operation was to help out the Abandoned in their home suburb of Yagoton. The overall goal was to take back Bale Mall and near by resource buildings from zed control. On October 14, 2008, the first of Umbrella's scouts left for Yagoton to help better assess the situation. Omega's new resident medic, Harman Black, was one of the first people into Yagoton. Initial reports came in with the suburb being the current home of 250+ zeds. With the rest of the platoons making their way to Yagoton, we were able to get a good hold on the Serrell Building, Rounefell Library, and Newbould Place Police Department. After a few days of fighting, we were able to push further into the suburb and secure the Whatmore Building. From there, we were also able to secure the Hinks Cresent Police Department and the Style Building. During the next few days, we had more of a battle inside the buildings than outside with zed forces. Yagoton had become full of PK'ers. With PK'er group Cobra calling Yagoton their home, a hard fought battle ensued. Many Umbrella members were killed, to only find themselves waiting for a day or two at Harkness Street to be revived by one of the many medics. With Cobra putting a hold on PKing, some ground was made and Ball Mall was restored, full of survivors and power. After many days and nights of battling back and forth, on both fronts, Umbrella was called back to it's home suburb of Shearbank on November 10th, 2008. With Shearbank under attack, our operation would be put on hold indeffinately. -November 12, 2008 Operation: Retaking Sticklings Mall: With Omega, Whiskey, and Victor Platoons all being out of Shearbank on various operations, that left our home suburb almost completely defenseless. On November 11th, 2008 Omega and Whiskey Platoons were both recalled to Shearbank to help push back the now rising threat on our beloved home. With members from the Ridleybank Resistance Front, Brainstalkers, and random members of the PK'er group Red Rum, the fighting ground had now been changed. With fighting going on for days on both fronts, November 17th, 2008, saw the suburb in almost complete ruins with few buildings standing and even fewer with power. After about a week of fighting, the suburb made a surprising turn around. Many survivors came to help defend one of the last few standing malls. On December 2nd, 2008, Stickling Mall was back in survivor hands and fully powered. Other resource buildings were still under constant zed attack, but not like it once was. With many zeds standing at revive points, it quickly became a race to get the survivors back among the living once again. On December 4th, it was agreed upon by the Board of Directors at Umbrella to send all three platoons to the northeastern parts of Malton to help regain some control in those suburbs. With this mission being a relative success, Dark Blue Helmet, Rohanzap and L3wis1 all completed the necessary requirements to graduate from the training platoon. Rohanzap was picked to lead the new propaganda unit as the Director of Propaganda. L3wis1 graduated and got promoted into the Umbrella Special Tactics Service. Dark Blue Helmet was picked as the new commanding officer of Whiskey Platoon. -December 9, 2008 Operation: Northeastern Crusade: With all of Malton starting to take a turn for the worse, The Imperium of Man contacted Umbrella Corp (along with the UBCS) seeking help in retaking the northeastern suburbs. Accepting the call to arms, Whiskey Platoon was headed off to Huntely Heights. The Plowright Building was our first objective to secure. On December 9th, the Plowright Building was in survivor hands. Unfortunately, the zeds were drawn to the lights like moths to a fly zapper. December 10th saw the destrcution of both the Plowright Building and Solomon Lane Police Station. Knowing that it was going to be a long struggle, a new goal was set to fall back to the Gabe Building in Shearbank and set up a line of defense there. Fighting the zeds, a forward surge was made and the Plowright Building came back online on December 11th with the help of Victor Platoon members. The surge continued forward until most of Huntely Heights was back online. The Vicari Building being a new base of operations, Santlerville, home to the UBCS, was our next suburb to clear out. Dowdney Mall was our target of choice to take back. Omega Platoon being in Santlerville from the start, had a good foothold and a few secure locations for us to rest our weary heads. The mall was going to be a big struggle, with many lives being taken. Finally, on December 17th, the mall was going to be lit up and stay lit as a becon of hope for other survivors coming into the area. With the UBCS being back in its home suburb, they slowly pulled their remaining members out of the Northeastern Crusade and gathered at the mall. With the Imperium of Man, Umbrella Corp, Foxhound, and Death's Minions left, a decision was made to start the push north. Around this time, UBCS saw fit to break the Alliance of the Dagger by killing Skouth of the Umbrella Corp. A new war was on the horizon, one that was forshadowed by the corpse of our fallen comrade. This new war was going to be bloody. This new war was going to the be fought with the beat of the War Drums. December 26th, 2008 Operation: War Drum: The link to the Report Operation: Harman Black Shield: With Umbrella Corporation unpacked and settled into their new home suburb of Ruddlebank, Whiskey Platoon decided that it's home away from home would be the Holmes Arms. With Whiskey's own personal HQ, it was now time to get a new operation under way. With reports coming from Fort Creedy of an impending attack, orders were given on February 24, 2009 to head there. With intel coming in from William Roy, we were able to gather that the RRF was heading there to crush the fort. With our forces taking up positions in the fort's gatehouse, Farmer NT Building, and St. Benedict's Hospital. On February 28, 2009, Farmer NT building fell into zombie hands. This was only a small preview of what was to come. By the next evening, both the gatehouse and hospital were ransacked. On March 1, 2009, orders came in of a new threat facing our new home. Whiskey Platoon was recalled back to Ruddlebank. March 1, 2009 Operation: Welcome Holmes: With Whiskey being recalled to Ruddlebank, it was time for us to head home. Gathering with Sigma Platoon in Handley Towers, we were ordered to Tompson Mall to help defend it from the Mall Tour. By March 3, 2009, 72 zombies were spotted gathering outside the south east corner of the mall. The first night we were able to survive the horrors that is the Mall Tour. By March 5, 2009, the barricades fell. The horde was now moving inside clearing each corner with ease. It was only a matter of hours before the entire south east corner of the mall was ransacked. By March 8, 2009, the entire mall was down. Whiskey fell back to the police stations to try and gather more ammo. With the overwhelming number of zombies, there was not much we could do. We fought for as long and hard as we could, only to die in the end. With most of the horde moving on, revives were handed out getting all of our members back among the living. Soon, it would be time to retake Tompson. |
