History
Griffiths Park was named after Lord Thomas Griffiths the 15th Earl of Buttonville on the 15th of May 1979. Lord Griffths was famous for his discovery of he termed "Cheesed-cake", a glorious union of the biscuity base of a pie, the smooth creamy filling of a cake and the irresistible flavour of cheese. It was instantly a hit with the public and even to this day a small "Cheesed-cake" stand operates in Griffiths Park spreading the Earl's fine food to a new generation.
