"Life is short, [the] art long, opportunity fleeting, experiment treacherous, judgment difficult." The Dulston Infection Treatment and Prevention Squad is a survivor group in Dulston, dedicated to assisting survivors by providing in-patient, out-patient, and field medical services. The DITPS was founded by Dr. Carey, more commonly known as Deathwire, and Flyte in early 2007. Deathwire, a former physicist, and Flyte, a medic, came to Malton as part of a wider government plan to provide medical services in the form of leadership and training, but soon found themselves taking on the role of entrenched medical officers. Quickly the organization grew, attracting fresh talent and joining the Dulston Alliance, until the DITPS became an established force in the north-east corner of Malton. The DITPS currently operates two hospitals in Dulston, Anne General Hospital (also the DITPS headquarters), and St. Anacletus's Hospital. Government funding ran out long ago, as the majority of the funds were spent renovating the hospitals and attracting new members (and definitely not blown on Blackjack by Deathwire). The DITPS also maintains a field team that is dedicated to expanding the group's medical services to survivors beyond their main hospitals. The team has most recently made forays into providing assistance to survivors sheltering at Blaise General Hospital, which is currently a freelance hospital. The goal will be to eventually include Blaise General to those hospitals already managed by the DITPS once enough medical staff are commited to working there. Whether they are scientists, doctors, or mercenaries, the D.I.T.P.S is on the lookout for talented new members. Small in numbers, big in spirit, the DITPS will grow until all the needs of Dulston survivors are met.
The members of the Dulston Infection Treatment and Prevention Squad pledge to provide in-house and field medical services to the survivors of the Malton plague; to provide reanimation services for its victims; to work tirelessly for the betterment of Malton's humankind; and to do so without prejudice, to the best of our abilities, as long as we serve.
