Opened in 1992, Gully Library was funded primarily by the Malton Literary Society, along with municipal funds, as part of a larger effort to bring culture to Lamport Hills.
Gully Library at first boasted only a humble collection and was kept afloat by a steady flow of generous donations from the Southall family. In 1995, a the library was able to a double the size of its collection after it won a raffle sponsored by the Royal Society of Malton.
It was best known for its community outreach efforts, particularly a children's reading area, where the children of the poorer residents of Lamport Hills were tutored free of charge.
Since the outbreak, the library acts as a zombie outreach center, allowing the recently revived to enter the free-running network.
