:This is a different thing and you know it. Revenant was an actual redirect. You were directed to a page other than the actual link, which meant that it circumvented the idea of not having user space stuff in the main article space; essentially, Revenant meant that User:Revenant was almost the same as a main space page but only one user had control over it. This is clearly just a regular link. When you click Banana you are not redirected to another page. You are directed to the Banana page where static links can be clicked at will. It's no different than having profiles linked to on, say, Characters of Note or having a sig link on a suburb page like Millen Hills. Are we going to strip all those out? Of course not. Learn the difference between a link and a redirect then come back to me thanks. 20:42, 18 September 2012 (BST)

This isn't a main space page, it's a disambiguation. Also, precedent. --Umbrella-White.pngThadeous OakleyUmbrella-White.png 21:47, 3 October 2010 (BST)

That's hardly an apt likening, given that the only internal link on that was to a userspace, so it was a circumventing of the no-user-redirects rule (which I think is what you're confusing this with, along with the moving of user pages like this one), as the other links were outward to Wikipedia only. This one lists nanners alongside other Banana-based pages, helping to find him with a search (lord knows it took me forever to realise it was him). And disambigs are in the main space, since they're not listed under any other namespace - anything without a prefix like Template:, User:, etc, is main space, even disambigs. A disambiguation is basically an overview of multiple redirects under the same name. We never redirect to users. I'm highly positive I'm in the right here but I'll ask someone else. --Umbrella-White.pngThadeous OakleyUmbrella-White.png 22:03, 3 October 2010 (BST)
Don't know what you meant by the disambig and mainspace because they aren't mutually exclusive :/ But I don't think there's anything wrong with this disambig page, it's really funny. but I'd take Surgeon General off the list. -- LEMON #1 03:01, 4 October 2010 (BST)

This is a different thing and you know it. Strength is just an accident arising from the weakness of others 20:42, 18 September 2012 (BST)
Revenant wasn't a redirect but a disambig. It contained the groups The Revenant and Revenant Zombies as well as a user link to User:Revenant. Coincindently it was created by User:Revenant. It was later deleted under the reasoning that it was a poor attempt at circumventing the rule that we don't use user redirects. -- Cat Pic.png Thadeous Oakley Talk 20:49, 18 September 2012 (BST)

Look here and here and here, and if it doesn't convince you then I'm dropping the issue, and hope that Revenant won't trying the same thing again. -- Cat Pic.png Thadeous Oakley Talk 21:09, 18 September 2012 (BST)
A deletion vote with a "keep" verdict for a more egregious example than this; a divisive discussion which seems open to interpretation; and a page which doesn't actually clarify a thing at all. Thanks, I think I got it. Strength is just an accident arising from the weakness of others 21:15, 18 September 2012 (BST)
Then stop calling it a redirect; that's a clearly defined function of wiki software which means something different. I still defend a link to a user page, especially one I have no personal interest in, as it falls under exactly the same standards of linking to user pages as is seen on, at the very least, 101 main space pages; thousands if you count the transclusions of danger reports onto location pages (not to mention those location pages which explicitly link to user pages already like The Bere Arms. Generally I hate to be a party pooper but I agree with Thad's issues here especially relating it back to the Revenant case. However, there are a couple of differences which just might see this one through if a more serious complaint arises. More notably, Rev's was a bit more of an ego-based attempt at making a workaround for his lack of redirect, and this is just a bit of a joke on a joke disambig (and hence sorta suits well...)
