The only other historical merit associated with the small bank is a local urban legend. The truck's driver, tired from hours of non-stop driving did not even realize the accident had occurred or had simply chosen to drive on, leaving the bicyclist to lie bleeding in the street. In the following minutes three other cars drove down the street and in a tragedy of events ran over the bicyclist again and again. Before it was over he was, without a doubt, dead. Some say that to this day his ghost still haunts the street outside the bank and that should a survivor ever spot the bicyclist's reflection they should never turn around, as gazing directly at him is considered a portent for terrible misfortune.

Description

Merchant Bank is a branch bank located in the suburb of Rolt Heights. It is the oldest bank in Malton, having survived the Great Fire of 1912, and many other events before it. The Merchant Bank has seen better days even before the "Malton Incident" finally closed its doors for good. Due to flagging business in Rolt Heights the bank had fewer and fewer high-profile businesses and more low-income residents who often only cashed unemployment cheques. In truth, if the zombie outbreak had not come along the bank would have closed a year or so later anyway.

The only other historical merit associated with the small bank is a local urban legend. Rumor has it that in 1972, on a particularly foggy night a lone bicyclist was seen riding down Goringe Way when he was hit by a semi-trailer.

Barricade Policy

This building should be Extremely Heavily barricaded at all times. This is in accordance with the barricade level set forth by the Rolt Heights Barricade Plan and Newgrounds, who routinely monitor the barricade level for this building. This building is meant to serve as a safehouse for them and Malton's veteran survivors, and thus requires the Free Running skill to be properly utilized.

Survivors who find the building's barricades below their assigned level are asked to assist in raising them back up in order to help ensure the safety of all the survivors staying inside the building. Any survivor found lowering the barricades without reason will be dealt with by members of NG.
