You are inside a classroom of Pridmore Way School, a high school. Every wall has shelves built to the ceiling, every surface a book on it. Both make narrow walking corridors of the classroom floor space. It is dark.

You peruse the library. In the dark, attempting to read titles on book jackets is difficult. You try pulling books off their shelves and comparing sizes and weights. This is not really useful. You put them back in whatever order, letting one fall to the floor; it thumps. You move on.

There is a table with a chair. You sit; something creaks. A book, a used candle stick, some pencil shavings and eraser bits is all you feel. You pull the book toward you and open it. Nothing can be read in the dark. You wait for your eyes to better adjust. As you close your eyes and open them, you compare the darkness, seeing an increasing distinction between the two. After a minute, you look down on the pages again. It is still too painful to read anything.

Possible actions:
Light the candle with a flare gun Wait longer for your eyes to adjust Look for a match or lighter
Search the area Leave the classroom
Inventory:
You carry a knife; a journal and a notebook; a bloodied radio and a flare gun. You have a shotgun (2), a pistol (12) and three spare magazines inside your vest pouches. You are wearing a tactical vest, blue jeans, a white T-shirt and a pair of shoes.
