The Great Suburb Group Massacre '09.

Check-Mark-Reviewed.jpg Group Confirmed.
This group was confirmed active. Thank you for your reply.

Contacted me on my talk page. --Lois talk 10MFH 12:45, 21 April 2009 (BST)

Complaint

Hello. My char, Paul Gargoyle used to wage war against you, but now the war has ended. Tell me then, why I was PK-ed by She bean while I was sleeping in Musgrove Arms, after trying to rebulid Club Bernard? Paul--contacted you about this issue. Accept apology please. People were a bit stressed with the conflict and some anger was still manifest. You are safe from any reprisals. Good luck. pfc sejda.

Complaint

If you have a member named Agula, please rein him in. I've been PK'd twice by the guy while in Dartside, and for no apparent reason. As far as I know I've never had any contact with your group either, and I certainly don't go about PKing or griefing. His profile says that he's a member of the Order. If this is sanctioned by your group I'd appreciate it ending. Thanks.--Holtzfeller 05:14, 12 March 2009 (UTC) Mr Holtzfeller--This individual is not part of the group. Nor do I know him. But he will be dealt with if run into by myself--We don't PK unless either at war or dealing with PKr's. Please see our members list it is up to date.--pfc sejda

NOTICE TO ALL MEMBERS: AegisTyra of the SPARTANS did not intentionally PK one of our members as suggested previously.

Hi, this is AegisTyra. I am indeed a Spartan, but I was unaware of any such pact between our groups. I apologize for the kill. --AegisTyra

AegisTyra, as a representative of the Order of the Pure Blood who has been lazily inattentative to the Talk Page, I appreciate and accept your apology for the killing which you made unaware of the pact with Spartan Warrior1. We do not mean disrespect to you or any Spartan. --She bean 17:10, 5 October 2009 (BST)

Name

uh... Order of the Virtuous Blood? :D If you feel like being named after three man group from Oblivion... --Alexander Abramov 13:58, 15 May 2009 (BST)

  • from She bean: Order of the Virtuous Blood is a good suggestion, although I think I may need to research this group Oblivion. ;-) Thanks for the idea.

Lighten up, Francis

Alright, I suppose it's time to come here and say my piece. This is mostly in response to She Bean's rant in The Musgrove Arms from earlier today (screenshotted here: [1]). You folks need to lighten up. I mean, seriously. I'm writing this completely out of my UD character now because you have forced it to be this way. You folks seem to be all about the roleplay of the game by looking at your wiki, but when someone with a character opposite of you shows up, you throw fits. This game is about the struggle between human and zombies, so play it as such. If you don't want zombies to invade your home turf, defend it. If you can't defend it, either surrender and concede defeat or move on and find someplace new to live. Out of character attacks on someone's private life seem a bit out of line, if you ask me. You want to roleplay that you are human purists and you advocate the genocide of zombies, yet you don't want to actually fight some zombies? It's time to man up, Nancy. (please also see my reply to your comment on the Zombiefark talk page) --biggaryk 21:33, 11 June 2009 (BST)

Who's Francis?

Thanks for stating your position biggaryk. I completely agree, this game is about the struggle between humans and zombies. I would LOVE to fight some zombies, but it's really difficult to do when one's human persona is almost constantly dead. Please read my reply on your discussion page for more clarification on what Zombiefark perceived to be an out-of-character attack on someone's private life (not lives?). I suppose that telling me to "man up, Nancy" was supposed to be an out-of-character personal attack on my private life by demasculinizing me? I find that amusing, and sociologically fascinating, because my out-of-character private person happens to be female. All roleplay games are really just social experiments with real people, right? Try and dig it on both levels, and you may find yourself having even more fun instead of getting all worked up over my rant. --She bean 17:12, 15 June 2009 (BST)

So Here I am.

Please excuse me if I go about this in an entirely incorrect fassion, but I am not very familiar with how this wiki stuff works. I find it interesting that so many complaints are being thrown about over me, and yet none of them have actually found their way to the wiki page of the group I belong to. I'll take this opportunity to defend myself, if I may. I am not zerging. Do I have alternate characters in the game? Yes. In addition to the death cultist persona of KingRoach I also play a survivor and a career zombie. My survivor is in the NE with a group of friends from another site, and my zombie is currently being treated to continued gunfire from Ft. Creedy. Now, who "PapaRoach" is I have no idea. I noticed you had that listed on your page ano could only assume whoever posted it remembered my name incorrectly. I have never been, nor will I ever be "PapaRoach." Other than this mistaken identity I am not sure why I am being accused of zerging. I play a pretty simple game really. When I am alive, I gather supplies, then look for a place to preach and spread Barhah. When I am dead I either wander around breaking into buildings, or find a queue to wait in for a revive. Lately the above group and I have allied ourselves and we have been concentrating on maintaining your headquarters in a ruined state as a shrine to Barhah. As I mentioned to Mr. pfc sejda over the phone, this game becomes pretty pointless in a very short time unless you set yourself a goal. So, Zombiefark and I set a goal and we continue to work towards it. So,really, to sum this up; since no one seems capable of contacting me directly, here I am; and aside from one of your group reporting my name incorrectly on your wiki page to begin with, I'm not sure where the accusation of me zerging comes from. --KingRoach 14:11, 15 June 2009

Spreading the word.

Paul Gargoyle here. Hello to you all, after long silence. Hope that you're doing well. Anyway, please, take a look a St. John Classic Rock Station- it's my own, and I hope that you'll find it interesting. Bye. --Gargulec 19:01, 23 June 2009 (BST)

No Name Change

ZombieFark has found a nice, permanent home then. -- HikerMike

So this really was not a "island hopping tour" ZombieFark?

Just using that to support another group that is/was against us?
Z's supporting Pk'ers Suprise!! ! ! That could explain alot of things, like other groups "timing out" Hell lets all kill each other!! - JCH

Island Hopping Tour

Actually, you can find out all you want about the Island Tour [[2]here.] Our Island hopping tour was done quite awhile back. We revisited you at one point and...

As it so happens,OPB has been the only group which offered significant defense, so we felt that "your" island (hah... we have held it as a Shrine to Barhah now for how long?) was most worthy of our message: the only True Peace, is that peace found through Barhah.

It is not our fault that you cannot defend "your Island".

Honestly, you should be proud that "your island" was the only island that actually fought back. ;)

Timing Out?

Also, the accusation of PKing is even more off-base than SheBean's accusation of "zerging" How is it possible for Zombies to PK?

We do maintain an IRC chan... #udfark @ esper.net More productive discussion could be held there.

/Peace through Barhah Brazahs... Ankle Grab and Lurching Gait are not something to be ashamed of...Or, are you just too proud?

Comment

Ankle Grab Pretty much says it all.......... JCH

Semantics

Adolescent taunts like "....Or, are you just too proud?" make me laugh. Let's stop this silly game of semantics & acknowledge that ZombieFark will kill any survivor who's not a mole planted by your own group, or a ZombieFark ally. For that matter, your group will kill many zombies that are not ZombieFark or allies. I really don't feel like spending half my life using your IRC chan, and there's not much to discuss anyway. We're obviously not your ally; you obviously like to kill us. Therefore, we'll kill any ZombieFark Barhah Hoo-Hah anytime we please, and that's pretty much that. :o) --She bean 15:26, 15 August 2009 (BST)

You rang?

SheBean, in response to your message left for me on ZombieFark's discussion page and comments regarding me made on the OPB page, I still don't think you get me. I do not operate out of any malice. I want to save all survivors from themselves. If you want to learn about my motivation why don't you visit the wiki page for my group the "Harbingers of Peace." There you will also find a discussion like this one where you may reach me without going through ZombieFark. If you would also like proof that I am not just singling out your group, go talk to security at teh Tompson Mall, or even your would be allies the Malton Skinz. I deliver sermons and administer baptism into undeath wherever I find a suitable congregation of misguided souls.

Faithfully yours,

--KingRoach

Yay! Flames!

Note: Posted everywhere, blah blah yackety shmackety

Mrs. Bean (or is it Ms. or Miss?), I couldn't care less about your name calling, and I wasn't crying about your page. I was just setting the record straight. I don't zerg. Whoever called me PapaRoach just doesn't pay attention. My only real concern was your threat to report me to the "game authorities" for something I wasn't doing.

I'm also not sure why you call me a hypocrite? Are you taking our conversation as some kinds of peace talks? Maybe we still need to get something straight. MY MISSION IS TO SEE THAT EVERYONE IN MALTON IS DEAD! This is the path God has chosen for us. Is that perfectly clear now Love?

As for my calling being a "new fad," if you check the history of the page of my Order you will see I have been a member since at least May of '08.

Again, you people just don't pay attention. That's not a flame; it's just fact.

Radio Primer

I noted your radio primer and the suggested radio etiquette when using OPB radio. I suggest a revision adhering to a different standard, so as to save letter space. The simplest of these are Morse Code Prosigns, and also the most easily accessed. Here is a list:

Prosigns
Sign Code Meaning Comment Mnemonic
AR ·-·-· Stop (end of message) Often written + "All Right" (as in "All right, that's it")
AS ·-··· Wait (for 10 seconds) Respond with C (yes). AS2 means wait 2 min, AS5 5 min, etc. For pauses of 10 min or longer, use QRX (see Q code) wait "A Sec"
BK -···-·- Break Often indicates "back-to-you". Used for fast exchange between two stations.
BT -···- Separator within message Often written =. In practice, indistinguishable from TV, and sometimes written thus
CL -·-··-·· Going off the air "CLear" or "CLosing down"
CT -·-·- Start (beginning of message) In practice, indistinguishable from KA, and sometimes written thus. "Commence Transmission"
K -·- "go" or "over" - another station is invited to reply "oK" (as in, "'K, go ahead") or "STANding BY" as per rhythm
KN -·--· Invitation to a specific named station to transmit 'K' means "go" or "over;" KN is short for "go oNly" and signifies that only the called station should reply. "oK, Name"
SK ···-·- End (end of contact) In practice, indistinguishable from VA, and sometimes written thus "Silent Key"
SN ···-· Understood In practice, indistinguishable from VE, and sometimes written thus "Sho' 'Nuff"
SOS ···---··· Serious distress message and request for urgent assistance Not to be used unless there is imminent danger to life or destruction of property.

Having sensible and efficient conversations involves more than simply typing. To make communication efficient, there are many internationally agreed patterns of communication.

A sample CW conversation between station 1 (A1AA) and station 2 (A2BB) might go roughly like this:

A1AA: CQ CQ CQ DE A1AA A1AA K

Calling anyone (CQ), this is (DE) A1AA, listening (K)

A2BB: A1AA DE A2BB A2BB KN

Calling A1AA, this is A2BB, back-to-you (KN)
(Now we have a connection)

A1AA: A2BB DE A1AA = GA DR OM UR RST 599 HR = QTH TIMBUKTU = OP IS JOHN = HW? A2BB DE A1AA KN

Good afternoon dear old man. You are RST 599 here.
(Very readable (5), very strong signal (9), very good tone (9))
I'm located in Timbuktu. The operator's name is John.
How do you copy? Go ahead A2BB (KN means you are inviting only the named party to go ahead)

A2BB: A1AA DE A2BB = TNX FB RPRT DR OM JOHN UR 558 = QTH HIMALAYA = NAME IS YETI AR A1AA DE A2BB K

Thanks for the nice report dear old man John. I read you 558.
I am in the Himalayas. My name is Yeti. That's all for this transmission (AR), go ahead (K without the N potentially invites other callers to break in).

A1AA: A2BB DE A1AA = OK TNX QSO DR YETI = 73 ES HPE CUAGN A2BB DE A1AA K

Okay, thanks for this conversation, dear Yeti.
Best regards and hope to see you again.

A2BB: A1AA DE A2BB = R TU CUAGN 73 A1AA DE A2BB SK

Understood. Thank you. Best regards. Signing off (SK)

A1AA: (SK)

Obviously there are no overlined characters in urbandead, but using such an alphabet could save radio space. Just a thought.
