Suggestion description
Duct Tape can be found inside factories and mall hardware stores. A roll of duct tape has 6 uses (like pitol clip). Once used six times, it disappears from your inventory. Once you find a roll of duct tape, all other inventory items are instantly dropped. The reason for this is that your character has found a single replacement for all other items; they no longer feel the need to encumber themselves with them. Simply having duct tape in one's inventory automatically raises the max HP value of the character by 5HP on account of your being so clever. Both survivors and zombies can use duct tape.
Because duct tape is the most useful item on the planet, it's appearance in Malton drastically changes the game mechanics. Below are some of the many uses for duct tape in game:
Uses that effect character interaction
- Holds corpses to the ground. It takes extra AP to stand up if duct taped to the ground.
- Duct tape player's mouths shut. They cannot speak, broadcast groan or bellow until duct tape is removed.
- Blind players by duct taping over their eyes. They can't see the map or their inventory. The only action available is remove tape.
- Can be used on players to slow their progress until the duct tape is removed. All movement takes 2 AP similar to a zombie without Lurching Gait.
- Create a realistic life sized decoy that can be placed at the top of a stack of dead bodies. Revive attempts fail.
- Zombies can duct tape a human to themselves, making it impossible for them to escape their tangling grasp.
- Zombies can make duct tape helmets, negating the effects of Headshot.
Uses that effect barricades
- Can be used like metal pipes, able to cade buildings up to loosely barricaded.
- When used on ruined buildings, decreases the rate of ruin.
- Carparks can be converted to duct tape forts. Duct tape fort is a loosely barricade building.
- Can be used at parks to construct a hammock. Allows you to sleep outside without concern of attack.
Uses that effect items
- Create a blunt weapon by wrapping duct tape around the end of a newspaper.
- Mend broken pool cues with duct tape.
- Apply duct tape to the end of a crucifix to make a hammer. Replaces toolbox.
- Duct tape several shotguns together to create a destructive super shotgun, killing every last mother fu**er in the room with the pull of a single trigger.
Uses that effect flavor text
- Duct tape can be used to make clothing. Removing an article of duct tape clothing causes the character to lose 5HP.
- Christmas trees can be decorated with duct tape.
- Duct tape can be placed over graffiti, hiding it from view.
- HP values can be hidden from view by placing duct tape over your chest.
Uses that effect meta gaming
- Duct tape can be used to gag wiki users that don't understand humor.
Disclaimer: This list is by no means complete. New uses for duct tape are continuously found. Clicking the duct tape button in your inventory prior to nearly every action will have some effect. It's unknown exactly how many combinations are actually available.
