When the Malton Press folded in June 1989, in no small part due to direct competition from the Daily Malton (a rival newspaper in Dulston), foreign investors purchased the property and continued to manage it until the "Malton Incident". Survivors nowadays find that sheltering in the building is useful, but must be cautiously aware of the fact that should zombies breach the barricades they can easily pass through the underground parking garage between the two towers as easily as if it were a single building.

September 13th, 2006 - Fisty Jones and several more zombies from the Minions of the Apocalypse invaded Croom Towers and chased several survivors up to the rooftop observatory, where they enjoyed a lovely lunch overlooking the sunset. Well, the zombies at least.
