Description

Malton Police Department

Ayliffe Street Police Department is a single-story police department located in the suburb of Rolt Heights. Historically Ayliffe Street PD has had a very disturbing past. Originally built in 1920, the police station did its best to protect residents and deal with the many bizarre cases that plagued the suburb. Even so the police officers soon became swamped by the sheer number of missing person reports, cult-related murders, and strange "sightings". As such, police officers silently began to close many of these cases as "unsolved" rather than mire their entire police force in cases that were, for the most part, unsolvable... well unless you were willing to believe in otherworldly alien forces beyond human comprehension. If you were, then many of the cases actually had suspects, albeit they were horrible abominations from beyond time and space. That made it especially hard to prosecute them, but that wouldn't matter as people who followed this line of logic often ended up getting a padded room in the local sanatorium.

If this was not bad enough, the precinct burned down in a fire in 1931, was rebuilt by 1933, only to be burned down again in 1942. After this last fire the station was rebuilt in 1944 and had extra precautions were taken to deal with any further fires, which was fortuitous as the additional sprinkler systems thwarted two more small fires in 1949 and 1956. After that there were no more arson attempts or at least that's what the police staff categorized these fires as, even though a suspect was never caught.

In more recent years the building has become a popular choice of shelter for the survivors around the suburb. The station contains an office, holding cell, armory, criminal law library, and forensics lab. Like the Lanhdon Building, the police station is kept in an amazing state of cleanliness. The exterior of the building is surrounded by an 8-foot tall barrier made from concrete and welded steel plating obtained from a factory just one block north. With this fortress-like atmosphere, survivors enjoy a certain degree of security within its walls.

Ever since the "Malton Incident" the building was placed under the management of survivors from the Rolt Heights Vigilante Patrol.

Barricade Policy

This building should be Very Strongly (VS+2) Barricaded at all times. This is in accordance with the mutually supported Rolt Heights Barricade Plan set forth in agreement with local survivor groups. This building is meant to serve as a shelter for Malton's inexperienced survivors.

It should be noted that as no specific survivor group monitors nor maintains the barricades associated with this barricade plan, so therefore it is not considered to be enforced. As such, survivors should always expect to find the barricades set at varying levels depending on the survivors inside the building. For the most part though, survivors should always expect to find this building over-barricaded rather than under-barricaded simply due to survivor nature.
