Personally, I would have preferred Mandelson became the leader of the party in 2007, because then brown would have stayed as Chancellor, where he was expected to be an orator.--Yonnua Koponen Talk ! He wasn't too happy with standing in Blair's shadow for so long, and when the opportunity finally came I suspect him listening to his ego rather than his mind or peers when he choose to become leader. I'm sure he capable of making the right decisions and had the knowledge and understanding of what needed to be done but he seriously lacked some tact and charisma. That's the problem with todays politics, especially during campaign time. It's more an Idols-like contest about personal popularity then actual in-dept content.
