Rayne was formerly a medic serving in the army until he was dispatched into Malton city to control the infestation under any means necessary...on 2012-07-15 approximately 5:45 pm he received orders from the external military to carry out operation:Abs-solution,under which he was ordered to start killing the few survivors of Malton that were left in order to keep the infection from spreading to the other parts of the world.(the order was declared after the Monroeville incident on February 25, 2008 and the Borehamwood incident of 28 October, 2008).He carries around a satellite phone with the number-893-0155
