Basic Info:

  • All junkyards were sealed and locked at the start of the quarantine, and required wirecutters to enter, unless someone else had already cut the fence. It is widely recognised that all junkyards in Malton have already been cut open.

The Complex

The St. Aidan Complex was first named as such by Private James Ennis while he rested there after his first disastrous encounter with the undead menace. It is a grouping of tactical resource points and other buildings that, unofficially, have been joined together to provide an area of supplies and safety for survivors in the Northeastern suburbs of Gibsonton and Dunningwood. It is named as it is because St. Aidan's Hospital was serving as the entry point for the other buildings at the time of Ennis's arrival. It is made up of at least five buildings.

Hospitals

The Complex contains two hospitals, the namesake St Aidan's Hospital and St. Odile's Hospital. These two buildings, vital for providing the city's survivor population with medical attention and supplies, are right next to each other, giving the Complex a healthy existence. St. Aidan's is in the western-most parts of Gibsonton, while St. Odile's is in Dunningwood. It should be noted that St. Aidan's is the only true part of the Complex to reside in Gibsonton.

Police Departments

While the hospitals provide the Complex with the ability to preserve life, its two police departments give it the ability to fight those who seek to destroy life. Skarin Row Police Department and Morley Walk Police Department provide the Complex with all of the ammo, guns, flare guns, and body armor that the Complex's residents and visitors could possibly desire.

Other Buildings

The only other building that belongs to the Complex without a doubt is the Hellear Boulevard Railway Station. While not important by itself, it does provide a route between the SRPD and MWPD for those capable of using the elaborate bridge system connecting the buildings.

Extensions?

There are a number of buildings one can consider to be part of the Complex if one is willing to extend the Complex's borders beyond connected tactical resource points and buildings that connect them. Three blocks south of MWPD is Grimmer Square Fire Station. Three blocks south of St. Aidan's is The Canner Building, a Necrotech facility, and its designated revivification point at Germain Way. Mylrea Walk Police Department is three blocks to the north, and several schools, bars, clubs, and museums are nearby but none are necessary for the survival of the Complex.

Significance

Thanks to St. Aidan's, the complex helps serve the eastern part of Gibsonton. But the importance of the Complex is nearly tripled by the fact that St. Odile's is Dunningwood's only hospital. The Complex also contains 2/3rds of Dunningwood's PDs, making the Complex vital to the suburb's survival.

Finally, the Complex provides both suburbs with a useful substitute for a mall, something neither of the suburbs have. Should either suburb fall under heavy attack it is extremely likely that the Complex will become a hotspot of activity. The only downside is a lack of an organized group controlling the Complex, leaving it up to whoever is currently there to band together for defense.
