Clean up
This suburb wiki was a gigantic mess. So I have cleaned it up. My rationale for every change is in the edit comments, which can be read in the page history.
But one thing you need to keep in mind: the suburb page, and the News in particular, is **not** a place for individual and group promotion/propaganda. Keep it NPOV, keep it neutral. You can set up an active groups section, and put a disclaimer at the beggining permitting POV blurbs. Old Arkham has something like that, but note that most of the entries are pretty NPOV anyway... --WanYao 02:12, 15 November 2007 (UTC)
- Re: Nice job overall, but regarding the NPOV I disagree. You don't see anyone enforcing NPOV tags or broadcasts in-game, and this part of the wiki has to be considered an extension of the game - this is not wikipedia! It makes the news section and the suburb page in general livelier and more fun to let people be a bit biased, which they will be anyway to some degree. --Legowan Wealson 09:43, 15 November 2007 (UTC)
- Wow, this was a long time ago... I forgot all about this. Anyway... That's exactly why we have NPOV in the community pages: there is plenty of space for people to be as biased and propagandistic as they like in-game. The community pages of the wiki, however, are supposed to be a place where you can go for information -- and not have to deal with someone's self-promoting horn-blowing. It's exactly not a direct extension of the game, that's the point.
- And it's only community pages that we ask to be NPOV. The rest of the wiki can be whatever you wanna make it.
- And, finally... NPOV =/= boring. A well written, witty piece of NPOV news is a lot more fun than "I pwnt teh zmobies my clan r0000lz, lol" .... Ok, it's not (usually) that bad... but... --WanYao 23:54, 9 June 2009 (BST)

News format
I think we should stop using the quarter division for the recent events section, practically no one uses it. We should open up an archive for the old news too. Discuss. Please sign your edits on the wiki. You can do this either by pressing the button in the editing toolbar. Signing your edits in the standard format makes it much easier to identify when and who has made changes, and creates less work for sysops and other wiki users--Airborne88T|ZC|MI|E! 02:20, 13 March 2008 (UTC) 05:29, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
I think we need more updates to the news section, the last entry was in October. I will be moving those entries to the archive and making a sweep of Houldenbank when my AP is full to get more relevant information on here. --Nhrn 22:11, 3 December 2008 (UTC)
Overbarricading in Houldenbank
Overbarricading is a serious problem in Houldenbank, and a threat to new survivors. The Black Berets want to work out a joint barricade plan with any groups in the area to help deal with this problem (see e.g. the Shackleville Barricade Plan). Please contact us on our forum if you're interested.
Such a plan is now in action (see Houldenbank Barricade Plan), but overbarricading remains a primary cause of young survivor deaths and injuries within Houldenbank.

Phone Mast status report
If you time, can we get you to update http://wiki.urbandead.com/index.php/Mobile_Phone_Mast#Locations with the current status of your local phone mast? Thanks. Asheets 20:12, 14 February 2007 (UTC)
Doom?
Yes I know, we have all heard it, we are all going to die etc. I looked at the suburb map yesterday, and it seem houldenbank is vulnerable. We seem to be in a cluster of non-important suburbs, Vinetown etc. but most of the suburbs around our cluster are 'dangerous' or worse. We are well dug in and almost all of our buildings are EHB. But as soon as the cannonball crew are forced away from Fort Perryn permanently, we are stuffed, as The Feral Undead and all their creepy friends will start picking off the Eastern suburbs one by one. I know its far fetched, but if they cut us off from Miltown, Pennville and Gulsonside. we won't be able to run.
-Well...looking recently...HELP! WE ARE NOW SURROUNDED! The MOB is only a suburb away! Don't go north, DON'T GO NORTH!
Hi guys, thanks for the fun! We'll be back someday.--FLZombie 04:44, 23 October 2008 (BST)
