This is a queue for current community projects that need to be worked on. There is no need to post something here before getting started, this area is just to help get the community involved and ask for help. If you would like to work on a project just post within the subheading what you are doing or would like to do, and add yourself to the members list. If you would like to create a new project put it at the bottom of the page using the following format.

*'''Title of Project'''
:What you are proposing, and why you think the wiki needs this.

Anybody can feel free to add or debate under the subheadings, but please don't delete anything. Once there is a general consensus that a project is finished or should be abandoned it should be put in the Projects Archive. Before you put something down, please note what this page is and is not.

This page is for:

  • Cleanups
  • Redesigns
  • New Pages You Need Assistance With

New Projects

This would take a bit of work initially, but it is very similar to the scent death map but in more detail, images would have to be scaled down slightly and the map would be huge in its entirety (maybe just show a centered grid at a time) but extremely useful I believe. If people could submit images from their binoculars from numerous locations we could create a map showing exactly how many zombies are where. May not even have to do the entire suburb, but that would be the most accurate. --Bufster007 08:21, 24 May 2008 (BST)

In need of people to take record of suburb maps each day Staff of 1-2 people.--Matterfoot 20:55, 25 October 2007 (BST)

Project to categorise the wiki's 8966 uncategorised images.

The NT Status Map has gotten a pretty hefty facelift recently, and works pretty damn nice now. Its also being gradually cross-integrated with the Necrotech Information Center. If you frequently spend time in one or several NT buildings, you could help out by keeping just that one building updated. If you travel a lot, you could update some of our remaining "blind spots". Works equally well for zombies and survivors- the map focuses on simple building function and construction.

I've created a page to compile a list of high xp players, this is in order to recognise their loyalty to the game and to congratulate them on their efforts.. Its for currently active players, so if your doing the rounds and you see an interesting player then add them to your contacts and post them on the site.. Me101 03:44, 3 May 2007 (BST)

A real live respectable UD news source! Could use some help hauling it up, it's kinda coming from scratch here. Join, it's fun and romantic!--Thegreathal 22:05, 15 April 2007 (BST)

The new building information center aims to keep track of the status of all notable buildings in malton. Users are asked to help expanding the system by adding notable buildings to be tracked.

1. To elaborate on and maintain a visual identity for all Malls in Malton. 2. To help those who use the facilities of the Malls. 3. To help all players know more about the history and importance of the Malls in Malton. 4. ??? 5. Profit!

  • Communications Pages Cleanup and Maintenance
A handful of interested folks have taken it upon themselves to clean up the Radio and Mobile Phone Mast pages. Come join the fun!

An attempt at creating a Player Killer supported newspaper. I have been trying to run it myself, but to no avail. If you are interested in lending a hand, use my personal talk page and let me know. It is an attempt to bring more community to player killers (and provide news, of course).

Active Projects

Each suburb has it own flavor. If a lot of the information is presented in a similar way, players new and old will be able to find the information they are looking for quickly, and understand how easy it might be to contribute information themselves. Please help the wiki by discussing the good, the bad, and the ugly regarding suburb pages with us on UDWiki talk:Suburb Style Guide; by also contributing to the suburb guide, you can help shape the wiki of tomorrow.

To compile data of all searches. Now with christmas stuff!

  • Locations Pages
To bring all Locations Pages on the wiki (and any new Locations) to a uniform and presentable state, and to bring as many Location Pages as possible to a Main Page presentable format. See the Locations Style Guide or Location Nuts for more details.

  • Families of Malton
To establish consistant "Histories" (for RP purposes) of the Families of Malton relying heavily on building names, Wiki contributions of others on Locations List tabs, and Miscellaneous writings including the Outbreak Lexicon.

This project is a repository of journals and other stories written in the UD universe.

A recorded history of zombies during their many high points. Military, Leadership, Intelligence, and Culture of zombies are preserved. Users may add to the page to help with the Second Zombie Renaissance which was started by Shacknews.

Old Projects

  • Cleanup and Merge some Suggestions Pages
These pages are now the only real source for would be suggestions authors on the Suggestions page as to what they should and should not propose. We need to clean, pare, and reposition them to the point where we can reasonably expect that they will be read by incoming members.
Update: The Suggestions Dos and Do Nots page has been rewritten; only Frequently Suggested remains. –Bob Hammero ModB'cratTA 04:45, 11 July 2006 (BST)

  • NPOV Suburb Pages
The suburb pages are usually filled with POV material. It is the aim of this project to make everything on the suburb pages into NPOV. Any POV material must be placed on the talk pages under a dated heading. The only restriction is that you cannot NPOV a suburb page that your group, allies, or enemies are involved in.

The Revive Point page is all well and good but it seems to go un-updated for long periods of time and sometimes they do not match the actual status of the revive point. This would redesign the page and redefine the rules relating to inactivity and when a revive point is added/deleted. A new page has been created for discussion. Now completed.

A directory of Malton's museums and which new decorative items can be found inside each one.
The work on project ceased in August 2007 as all tasks were completed --~~~~ [talk] 21:56, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
