The Generalisimo on Patrol in Echo.
History and Basics
Echo Squad is one of the main squads the heart and soul of The Randoms. They operate out of Echo Sector (surprise surprise), which is in the SE of Williamsville. Echo Sector contains the two most important buildings in all of Malton: The Mayer Building and The Missen Building, without which all of Malton would undoubtedly fall.
The current Echo squad is the Second iteration of Echo Squad. The original was formed when the Randoms moved from the old division format to the current squad format and the first squad leader was Eldredix. After a while, the squads reorganised meaning that Echo was disbanded. It was later brought back and put under the command of His Glorious Machoness, Generalissmo Zombie Repellent.
Bravely in his chicken suit of finest feathers, the General led his squad in forging the cultural center of the universe, also known as Southeast Williamsville.
Under command of El Magnifico, El Guapo, Generalissimo ZR many eventful things happened within the first few weeks...we just can't recall them. However, when Delta Zealot Krae heard of a long-standing contest between The beneficent and honorable Generalissimo and dudemeister, he whipped up an intense frenzy of rhetoric, claiming the "Pointless Weapons War" (as it was then called) to be heresy. El Ingenioso Generalissimo attempted initially to explain things, but as Krae dislikes any form of logic as far as it is defined in any sane person's dictionary, and dude was enjoying the mess he had created far too much to admit that the "war" was in fact HER fault to begin with, The Great Generalissimo eventually just grabbed a tennis racket and called his squad to arms. This was the beginning of the long standing feud between Echo and Delta (later SEDS, then Delta again).
When the Civil War became official (due to dwindling Orange Julius supplies in Delta Sector), El General ZR snapped just a bit, thought he was Francisco Franco in a chicken suit, and insisted everyone refer to him as Generalisimo. After the War ended (in the face of a shiny new horde of zombies), Second-in-Command Daeryon took over while the "Generalisimo" underwent psychiatric treatment.
The psychotherapy was, of course, unsuccessful. Besides, would the Randoms be the Randoms without at least one total psychotic in charge?
After Delta surrendered to Echo Squad, acknowledging Echo's greatness, awesomeness and superior skateboarding skills, Echo has ruled Delta with a kind but firm pimp hand. Only occasionally having to remind Krae of his place, they have been kindly to their mentally challenged cousins to the East.
Later, Foxtrot Leader LCpl Hicks retired, creating a power vacuum in our Willy. Echo quickly moved to diffuse this situation, Protecting Ethnic Echoes in Foxtrot by annexing the area. We PEE'd very thoroughly throughout the region, and while the 'trotters were intitally resistant to our PEE, they eventaully consented to the rule of Mariscal de Campo Daeryon, who took Hicks' place. Fellow Texan Akofus was then promoted to Teniente (or Second Banana) of Echo.
Flaming Pie was here, and has glorious, glorious pockets.
Organization
The most well run of the squads, Echo is a model of efficiency. In fact, they singlehandedly do 100% of the work in Buttonville and Williamsville while everyone else plays with Orange Julius, Fanatical Religions and Dolls with Kilt-Lifting Action.
This efficiency is maintained by all of Echo's members (who are cooler than you), but is especially enforced by it's leadership.
The Generalisimo, Teniente and Head Diplomat Akofus, and the true brains behind the Health Department: Flaming Pie, along with the noble Camping Eddy (handle with care) are the elite officer corps of which all other Randoms officers can only hope and pray to their heathen moustached Gods to be slightly in resemblance to.
Efficiency
It has often been said that even the D.E.M. with it's bajillion members cannot do as much in a week as an Echo can do with one AP.
Through efficient training all of our members know how to best belittle zombies to crush their egos and make them flee for other less witty suburbs. The Daeryon Effect is direct evidence of this.
Echo also often covers for the more lazy squads. Like Foxtrot (just look at their lazy wiki page!).
