I've been spending a bit of time in the center of city, Ridleybank. It's getting dangerous over here. I was sleeping in Moggridge Place PD when I heard a ghoul calling out to some of those other freaks. It wasn't just a normal groan, either...it was groaning on and on, as if it were making some sort of speech. Others were groaning in agreement, and by the time he was over, it seemed like every damn thing in the surburb was attacking the barricades. PD officers were firing flares for help, but for every person that arrived, 3 of those things did. They're still hacking at the barricades. I'm trying to get some sleep, as we're taking turns keeping the 'cades up, but one moment of distraction can lead to out deaths.

God, if I ever get out of this city alive, I hope I can leave memories like these behind.

Since I couldn't sleep, I decided to read up on the history of this place from a book I found. According to this external source, Moggridge used to be on top of a fort ran by the native Celts. In 43AD, the Romans killed everyone living here and made an example of the chief, Ridlaegh, by crucifying him. Supposedly, he cursed the area. Roman colonies that were founded here were short lived, leaving the area barren.

Next, in the 10th Century, Adalbert the "Twitching Monk" tried founding another habitation for disease afflicted people. He tried some experiments on them which results in the patients killing him. 400 years later, the area would be used as a burial ground for victims of the plague. Due to carelessness, the area turned into a swamp.

As the Renaissance progressed, the area was then converted to a slaughter house for animals. Fast forward to 1910, and archaeologists would discover the historic battle between Ridlaegh and the Romans, and in 1922, it's offical: The area is Ridleybank. With so much violence and death, it's small wonder that this area is now once again a slaughter zone.

Ironically enough, Ridleybank is the center and forefront of healing. No less than seven illustrious hospitals were founded here, each having its own speciality. Rumor has it that some of these hospitals were funded by Necrotech, in exchange for letting some of the fledgling scientists work on corpses. I remember hearing about an explosion and the release of a non harmful chemical right before the communication cut out.

According to further reports, Ridleybank, with its dense population and crowded cemeteries would prove disasterously effective in spreading the mysterious disease which caused the dead to rise. As police, firefighters, and the military struggled to gain the center under control, the disease was still affecting areas outside of the center. The local infrustructure collapsed as looters and monsters ran amok of the law. The center died and spread its rotting disease to surrounding areas like Barrville. While the freaks seemingly dispsersed after July, the calling of that one damn zombie seems to have rallied them back here.

I'm leaving this dead place, and hopefully getting to Pescodside, or Rolt Heights...I heard about some of my MFD buddies still holding out there.
