There are two hospitals bearing the name St. Ethelbert's Hospital in the city of Malton. These were both run by the monastic order founded by St. Ethelbert the Restorer.
The monks wanted to expand the original hospital in Roftwood, but the citizens refused and converted the land into Henslowe Park [66,51].
Undeterred, the monks moved in 1947 and purchased a plot of land in East Becktown where they built a larger hospital.
