Your beer suggestion

I like it. However, just a couple of pointers for commenting on other peoples votes. Firstly, it is only the author of the suggestion who is realy allowed to comment on the votes of others (You didn't go againgst this one, this is just so in future you know) Secondly if you start the comment with a # key (to keep the numbering right) followed by one indentation key (:) for each level of indenting, so if you where replying to someone who had already indented once, you would use two :, ect. Basicaly your comment should look like this in the edit box

#:How so?--~~~~<

Thirdly, while it is not a rule as such, it is considered bad form by some people to comment on every negative vote you received for your suggestion, usualy you should use comments to point out to someone something vital they missed while reading your suggestion. Pulling someone up for being a bit of an arse in their vote will not realy accomplish much. That's about it, If you've already picked all this up, then sorry if I came across as patronising, and I hope your suggestion gets through.--SeventythreeTalk 00:35, 16 October 2007 (BST)

It's ok. We all learn from mistakes and such. Another thing, you should always sign any comment you make on any page of the wiki, even other people's talkpages. If there's anything else I can help with just ask.--SeventythreeTalk 00:45, 16 October 2007 (BST)

Just for the record... Thing is, people who've been on the Suggestions page for a while have seen certain things suggested over and over again... and theyv recognise a dupe when they see one. Beer/wine messages is one of those suggestions that comes up over and over again. Because, honestly, it's a pretty obvious idea... But people weren't picking on you because it was a bad suggestion, they were picking on you because it's a DUPE... A dupe it can be frustrating to see over and over and over... But they were just too lazy to prove it.
Listen... Mmost suggestions get shot down, and sometimes viciously. Funny thing is, though, while some of the individual comments may be out of line... overall the end result usually seems to actually be the correct one. Not always, but much more often than not. If your idea has merit, enough people will recognise that fact and balance out any nay-sayers. If it doesn't have merit, it fails... It took me 3 months of participating in Suggestions and brainstorming before I recently stumbled upon an idea that could actually work. But even that suggestion has got some ridiculous Kill votes... which is irritating and often discouraging... but it's how it goes here, right or wrong... My point? a) try not to get too worked up about stuff (yeah, it's hard, people can be arses, but you have to try) b) keep learning and keeping trying. Participate in the Brainstorming page, learn how this works and why people say the things they say when they vote... Usually there is a reason. Okay... that's all... cheers! --WanYao 16:33, 17 October 2007 (BST)

Making REs

Just a pointer, when making REs, make sure you put #: before your comment or it will mess up the numbering. Thanks!--  AHLGTG THE END IS NIGH! 00:28, 16 October 2007 (BST)
