Guidelines for De-Escalation Requests

All De-Escalation Requests must contain the following information in order to be considered:

• A link to the user in question. Preferably bolded for visibility.
• A criteria for de-escalation. This should be short and to the point, including relevant links A/VD and A/VB if available.
• A signed datestamp. This can be easily done by adding ~~~~ to the end of your request.

Any deletion request that does not contain these pieces of information will not be considered, and will be removed by a system operator.

De-Escalation Eligibility

To be eligible for a De-Escaltion Request, the user must fall under one of the following criteria:

1. 1 Month and 250 Edits: At least 1 month has passed since the user's last vandalism infraction, and they have made 250 good-faith edits to the wiki since the last infraction/striking a user has received.
2. Invalid Vandalism Ruling: The vandalism data on the user's record is incorrect, because the specific vandalism ruling in question has been subsequently reversed.

Cycle of Warnings and Bans

The cycle of warnings and bans is laid out in these guidelines. De-Escalations will be administered starting with the 2nd warning, then working backwards through bans, and finally ending with the first warning, provided there are no acts of vandalism committed by the user in the interim period.

It's been a month already?? ;D Ummm could the ruling op on this just hold off, in 20 minutes i'm going to change the entire A/DE archive system to yearly archives as was discussed on the talk page. It shouldn't detriment Mis's a/vd entry anyway since he's already lodged his request on the date so the further month count starts from the 24th (see below conversation, tired and cant articulate properly) --

They're sorted so that the ones that have been struck are listed together, that way it's easier to see where you are in the escalation process. I believe it's standard for A/VD, though I may be mistaken since I'm new around here. Quoting mine isn't the way to go as it's so wrong it's comical. Persistent sysop incompetence has rendered mine this way. A/VD records should be in chronological order as they are an historical list of escalations of each user. Sysops are expected to be competent enough to be able to read a user's entry completely and understand the applicable policies rather than having every entry made idiot-proof. -- . . <== DDR Approved Editor 12:27, 9 April 2010 (BST)

Hey, here for one last piece of atonement for my naughties. I've made 250+ edits since my last A/DE request just below this one. While I'll admit I was actually struck two days later, it was rather casually agreed (somewhere) that the one month, now A/DE has been created, should start from when the user requests it (now it's officially lodged somewhere) rather than when a sysop gets to strike it, I always thought that was the fair way to go. I think it might be here, although I'm very tired and just shuffling around the wiki randomly at the moment so it might actually be more decisively written somewhere else.

Either way, I'll let the acting op decide. It'll probs take two days anyway ;D --
