Description

This was once a factory located in the suburb of Rhodenbank, but during the outbreak a fire burnt the building to the ground. All that now remains are rusting steel support beams and what few walls remained standing of the building's original machinery and office rooms. Desperate survivors seeking refuge from zombies have been known to take shelter in the ruined factory, but only as a temporary shelter since the lack of ceilings in most areas meant that they had no protection from the elements. On the other hand, the more than ample supply of debris created by the fire provide all the material a survivor needs in order to barricade the factory's few remaining doorways.

Barricade Policy

Please keep this building at VSB.

This building is a part of the Rhodenbank Highway, a series of buildings that are always Very Strongly (VS+2) barricaded so that inexperienced survivors without the Free Running skill will still be able to find a series of adjacent safehouses that they can enter while traveling through the suburb. This is in accordance with the suburb barricade plan enforced by the Rhodenbank Civil Defense Corps.

If the building is ever under attack from five or more zombies only then are survivors granted permission to barricade beyond Very Strongly, but only until the threat has passed. Survivors are warned that all members of the RCDC who find the barricades raised higher than Very Strongly have the right to lower them if there is no immediate threat to the building at that time.

Current Events

October 14th, 2009 - oO Willie, 7 survivors including myself holed up here. With the Starr Building under attack next door and gen constantly being knocked out, this place is becoming a lifeline for gens and fuel to keep the Starr Building lit. At least 2 zombies outside according to necrowatch and there may be more so barricades at VHB. Probably going to stay until I can scrounge up a gen then head to Marcellus Hospital to re-power the building.

December 11th, 2008 - Rotten Ray, Fedora-wearing Surgeon of the D.I.T.P.S, reported that the good times were over and that the factory's defenses had fallen. At this time 5 zombies had managed to get inside and things were looking grim. Time for a strategic retreat...

Update: DarthKnight of the D.I.T.P.S reported that the factory was overrun, with 6 zombies inside and another 6 more zombies outside. Among the casualties was D.I.T.P.S member Calcyon who was killed in his sleep. When Calcyon was later revived by one of his teammates he was quoted as having said, "Man, death is a harsh penalty for sleeping a few extra hours."

December 9th, 2008 - Rotten Ray, Meatball Surgeon of the D.I.T.P.S, reported that the factory was Extremely Heavily barricaded (after he stepped in and helped raise them from Heavily barricaded) and lit up. That said, there were 7 zombies spotted outside.

December 8th, 2008 - Rotten Ray of the D.I.T.P.S reported that he, along with some of the survivors from the Wallbutton Building had taken shelter in the building. It's unclear how many survivors took shelter at the factory, or for how long.

December 6th, 2008 - Metal Fox recon reported that there was 1 zombie inside the otherwise empty factory.

Update: The zombie has been shot and evicted. Rotten Ray of the D.I.T.P.S reported that the building was now Very Strongly barricaded, thanks to his amazing work ethic which left him so fatigued has was literally unconscious.

December 5th, 2008 - Rotten Ray of the D.I.T.P.S reported that there was 1 zombie inside the factory, and another outside. The factory was not, as of yet, ruined.

Update: Shotgun Ed of the Friends of the Featherstone Library reported, "I cleaned out the factory and 'caded it to VS+2."
