Description

Maltonhospitals.PNG

St. Mark's Hospital was a children's hospital located in the suburb of Rhodenbank. The hospital was founded in 1968 and became a popular pediatric facility serving patients throughout all Malton. Since then it has been purchased by Kaleida Health, although the hospital's name remained the same. The hospital has 320 inpatient beds and an extensive ambulatory care program, which included a hospital-based Primary Care Center and an outreach site at its Community Health Center. The hospital provided a full range of general and specialty ambulatory care services, as well as full emergency services and inpatient services before the outbreak. Since then, the group FOXHOUND has claimed this building as their Rhodenbank HQ. St. Mark's Hospital is crucial to the free running highway connecting Dulston and Rhodenbank. Many survivors look to St. Mark's when they are infected, and FOXHOUND will not only look back at them, but provide them with the best medical attention in the area.

Ever since the "Malton Incident" the hospital has done its best to help treat the injured and provide safe harbor for the citizens of Malton.

Mandate

The staff at St. Mark's Hospital try to always support the following ideals:

  1. To provide medical assistance to anyone and everyone who enters.
  2. To cure the infected.
  3. To keep its doors open to lower level survivors, if possible.

It is asked that survivors please note whether or not there is a portable generator within the hospital, and whether it has fuel or not. As a working portable generator is required for the Surgery skill it is asked the survivors provide support by replacing either the generator when destroyed or refilling its fuel supply when its exhausted. This in turn will allow the medical staff to provide more efficient aid to the injured.

Barricade Policy

Please keep this building at VSB.

This building is a part of the Rhodenbank Highway, a series of buildings that are always Very Strongly (VS+2) barricaded so that inexperienced survivors without the Free Running skill will still be able to find a series of adjacent safehouses that they can enter while traveling through the suburb. This is in accordance with the suburb barricade plan enforced by the Rhodenbank Civil Defense Corps. FOXHOUND accepts and enforces these rules, and agrees that lower levels should have entrance into the hospital at all times.

If the building is ever under attack from five or more zombies only then are survivors granted permission to barricade beyond Very Strongly, but only until the threat has passed. Survivors are warned that all members of the RCDC and FOXHOUND who find the barricades raised higher than Very Strongly have the right to lower them if there is no immediate threat to the building at that time.

Current Events

February 1st, 2009 - FOXHOUND has officially taken the responsibility of maintaining this hospital, and named it their Rhodenbank HQ. FOXHOUND is working with the Rhodenbank Civil Defense Corps and other local groups to keep this hospital safe, and provide medical help to all who take part in keeping this hospital safe. --Met Fan F 15:04, 1 February 2009 (UTC)

December 12th, 2008 - D.I.T.P.S reported that the barricades were still holding strong and the hospital was currently Extremely Heavily barricaded. After the fall of all three NT buildings and more recently the factory next door... the hospital would appear to be a likely target.

Update: FOXHOUND recon reported spotting Vatiel of Hel's Daughters still in the hospital's lobby. As of yet she appears to have kept her word and has not taken any action against survivors inside the hospital. Now membership among the Dulston Alliance reaches as far back as the days of the DDDS, a group that considered all living members of a zombie group to be nothing more than zombie spies and executed such people on sight. Of course these days there are rules and that was a very hard charge to prove. Not that the Alliance was accusing anyone of spying.

December 10th, 2008 - Deathwire reported that another survivor had setup a new generator and powered it, only to have vandal Tony Loop come in and destroy it. But then he didn't bother running away. No, he just stood there. This is odd, because no one there liked him, so it created a really awkward silence between him and the rest of the survivors, as no one was sure what to say to him after what he had done. Oh sure, they could have discussed the weather, but it would have been a shallow and meaningless conversation just started to end the silence. In short, most of the people there wanted Tony dead and dumped outside. And if a zombie broke in and did it, well, then everyone would have had a really good chuckle. Well, everyone but Tony.

December 10th, 2008 - Deathwire, the D.I.T.P.S Chief of Staff for Anne General Hospital... in Dulston... reported, "St. Marks was breached by 2 zombies. I was naturally the first target. After declaring that St. Marks was a new D.I.T.P.S hospital and the only thing that could stop that from happening was me being dragged into the streets, well, some zombies called my bluff and dragged me outside. However, I pulled myself back in and patched myself up."

Update: Officer Murphy of Dead vs Blue arrived on the scene and reported, "Still two zombies and they are making it difficult to barricade. Doors are wide open which isn't good."
Update: AttackDestroyDie of FOXHOUND was the next to arrive and reported, "St. Mark's is up and powered by yours truly. Deathwire unfortunatly survived the attack."
Update: Vatiel of Hel's Daughters was spotted inside the hospital and immediately confronted by Dulston Alliance operatives. She admitted to being with Hel's Daughters, but professed that she was Dual Nature. In all fairness she was allowed to stay here unhindered, but under careful watch.
Update: Deathwire commented, "I declared myself ruler of the hospital and then zombies beat the hell out of me multiple times in a short timespan afterwards."
Update: Lothar von Rheinfels, a so-called "Freelance Death Cultist", parachuted into the hospital (perhaps from a careless revive or a combat revive), destroyed the generator, died, and then stood up as a zombie to begin snacking on a survivor. Efforts were made by D.I.T.P.S to keep the snack-victim alive.

December 9th, 2008 - Rotten Ray, Meatball Surgeon of the D.I.T.P.S, reported that the hospital was Heavily barricaded, powered, and that there was only 1 zombie outside at the time.

December 8th, 2008 - D.I.T.P.S reported that the hospital was powered and still Extremely Heavily barricaded.

December 6th, 2008 - Major Azzhole of Metal Fox reported that he had Heavily barricaded the hospital.

Update: Major Azzhole reported that the hospital was now Extremely Heavily barricaded.

February 11th, 2008 - The hospital is ransacked and had fallen into ruins. It is now overrun by zombies.

November 16th, 2007 - Hospital is powered and reliable, in a green neighbourhood. --Afterdeath 21:23, 16 November 2007 (UTC)

April 19th, 2007 - A couple of zombies broke in and killed a few people. Please be on the lookout for any un-living persons of limited vocabulary.

March 6th, 2007 - The hospital is currently under survivor control. As such, the hospital is open for business and all survivors are welcome to visit if injured, infected, or seeking medical supplies.
