Coffeeshops and Cafes

Timestamp: Murray Jay Suskind 18:23, 27 December 2006
Type: New Building
Scope: General / Survivor
Description: A new building to take the place of some current streets and wastelands. Averaging about 1-2 per suburb, Coffeeshops and Cafes shall function as a vital meeting ground for those who wish to regain some semblance of normal life in Malton. When powered, survivors can make themselves a cup of coffee or tea at the cost of 1 ap and then drink it for another ap for the benefit of 3hp.

Keep Votes

  1. Author keep -- I just think this would be a fun little thing to add, and would have some utility, but not enough to throw the game out of balance. -- Murray Jay 1825 UTC, 27 December 2006.
  2. Keep Quit yer bitchin! Actually, this building could even contain newspapers (knives?) and in many descriptions could be an internet cafe'... which adds to the irony of the game cuz some people probably play this game from their cafe' while checking their mail. It works for me. Note, he did make it like only 1-2 buildings per suburb, no big deal! the healing is very reasonable.. just all about the AP baby. Kill Votes

  1. kill I think this pretty much dupes Arms, Pubs, and Bars. Asheets 18:25, 27 December 2006 (UTC)
  2. Kill - Too powerful. Even if the beverages can't cure infection, being able to have assured HP recovery is far too certain. If you want Coffeeshops and Cafes, just roleplay them. --The Surgeon General DHPD 18:53, 27 December 2006 (UTC)
  3. Kill - Other MMO games tried making places for people to gather at, but it turns out that don't go there. Instead they tend to gather at the most useful places. And it would be tedious to heal a large amount of Hp 3hp at a time. The suggestion isn't overpowered though, you can heal more hp per ap with a FAK. --Toejam 18:55, 27 December 2006 (UTC)
  4. Kill - Overpowered (and pretty much dupes Arms, Pubs, Bars, as Asheets has said). Maybe if you lowered the cost to heal to 1HP... maybe... --Wikidead 19:56, 27 December 2006 (UTC)
  5. Kill - Just give a search probability for finding some instant, then when used in the inventory have it say something along the lines of 'you brew some coffee' or whatever. And only let it heal 1hp. Otherwise, more flavour is good. But just make coffee a search-able item. --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 12:17, 28 December 2006 (UTC)
  6. Kill - Remove the HP recovery, or at least lower it, and we might have something here... --GhostStalker 18:32, 28 December 2006 (UTC)

Spam/Dupe Votes

  1. Spam - overpowered healing ability, otherwise pointless flavour (as you could just roleplay the existance of cafes and coffee shops as parts of buildings and so on.) --Funt Solo Scotland flag.JPG 18:28, 27 December 2006 (UTC) Toejam fails to factor in the AP cost of finding the FAK. --Funt Solo Scotland flag.JPG 19:18, 27 December 2006 (UTC)

  2. No. --Joe O'Wood TALKCONTRIBSUD 22:34, 27 December 2006 (UTC)
  3. Spam/Incomplete/Dupe - It´s overpowered, it doesn´t say what item you find, percentages, etc. and the rest of it is a dupe of the arms, pubs and bars already in the game. --Deras 22:48, 27 December 2006 (UTC)
  4. Spam - Only if it's Starbucks and it's in every building and on every corner of a street. Seriously, it's overpowered. How does a cup of coffee heal 3hp while a beer only heals 1? Makes no sense, and should be spaminated with extreme prejudice Kaylee Hans 00:39, 28 December 2006 (UTC)
