Discussion about living FU members in Scarletwood

Moved here after news items informing of and expressing opinions on the nature of revived FU members in Scarletwood became a long discussion.

28 August 2007 Speaking on behalf of the GBP, the oldest resident group in Scarletwood, I want to say a couple of things here. First off, the Feral Undead do NOT use spies to scout suburbs, including Scarletwood, and when you find them inside safe houses, its because *someone* indiscriminately used needles in a combat/random revive and put them there. To PK anyone based on group affiliation alone is just wrong and adds insult to injury - it is a PK and he should report you to RG. The Feral Undead are often guests in the Garniss HQ when they're breathing and this is a long-standing relationship spanning more than a year. I've always found them to play a straight-up and honorable game of survivor vs. zombie and they'll come through the front door the old fashion way - they'll take the cades down from the outside, not from the inside. I think we have many new survivors in the suburb who've stepped into a different political situation which they've never seen before. Just because we play things a little different here doesn't mean its wrong. There are other zombie groups in Scarletwood right now that deserve equal attention because of the level of destruction in the suburb. I think its wrong to single this one particular zed group out among the ruins. But I'll say this in closing, that I will have Garniss back one day and the FU, RRF, the D-vEM and any other BREATHING survivor will always be welcome in my suburb and my HQ. After all, the condition of breathing qualifies as a survivor by my group's standards and everyone in Malton is deserving of respect and fair treatment, regardless of group affiliation.Dr Killdare 14:48, 28 August 2007 (BST)

As you seem to believe that the FU play an "honorable game of survivor vs. zombie", allow me to quote their own wiki page which, as this section has not been altered in over a month, I assume to be accurate:

Since we are feral by nature, and laugh at authority, the “rules" of the members of the Feral Undead (FU) are minimal. PKing (player killing when revived), Gking (generator killing when revived), and spying on the enemy(in game only, forum spys are frowned upon) are neither supported nor discouraged. Say what you want, do what you want - it is up to the individual.

By aligning themselves with a zombie group, FU members declare themselves to be pro-zombie. Since the group takes no stand against PKing, GKing, and spying, I must assume that any living FU member is one or all of the above. Indeed, if you will read down, you will note that I have been PKed by a FU member in the past, which adds to my caution.

If it were practical, I would have left mon petite erreur alone, but the stack had already been DNA extracted, so I could not reach those below it ("it" intended gender-neutral, not belittling). Reviving it would be dangerous as stated before, so it was obstructing the stack. I took what measures I could to neutralize the threat and remove the obstacle.

If you've got a list of FU members who can be trusted to play honorably, by all means, tell me where it is. Until then, I will trust them only as far as I can throw them, and I'm a weakling. -FunnyMan 13:57, 29 August 2007 (BST)

That's fine. I honestly don't care if you kill a FU member when revived, it's your AP. My issue is that you are taking the suburb talk page, which should be presented in a neutral point of view (as both zombies and survivors use it) and using it to further your own agenda. For example, there is a "DO NOT REVIVE" list on the page that you and others have contributed to. That is not appropriate. Who are you to say who should or shouldn't get revived in a suburb? Now, you are entitled to your opinion, and welcome to post such a list on whatever group's wiki page you belong to, but I must have missed it when there was an official authority figure assigned to Scarletwood to make those calls for everyone else. Again, many players from many groups use a suburb wiki page and they don't necessarily share the same agenda.--Priapus 17:13, 29 August 2007 (BST)

I don't mind that Funnyman is afraid of us. I will eat his brain slowly if I see him. As far as his self-appointment as governing authority, or supreme vice president in charge of revivals, I can do little but laugh. If I am revived against my will, I will follow the breather that assulted me, announce that he is responsible for what is about to happen, smash his generator, destroy his radio, and munch delightfully upon his friends spreading my infection. If I am revived at my request, I will behave honorably until I jump and return to my feral undead state. If these breathers don't get it, its no skin off my butt. I have friends among the breathing and they understand when I kill them in the spirit of the game, and I understand when they put a bullet in my head. --Mary Deluxe 05:28, 1 September 2007 (BST)

So if one sees, say, Goolina or another known Gore Corps member alive and well in Scarlettwood, one is to just "live and let murder"??? Uhmmmmmm... okay... It's your 'burb... But, seriously (unless there is some kind of publicised truce or something), you can't expect a survivor player not to be naturally inclined take out a breathing character who has the name of a major enemy zombie group in their profile, it doesn't make sense to chastise them for that, sorry... it just doesn't. --WanYao 20:48, 2 September 2007 (BST)

Difficult one WanYao. I would tend to agree with you about not blaming survivors for getting edgy about breathing full time zombies sitting in their safe houses. But then, this game has been designed to allow the switching of sides very easily. There is no permanent fighting on one side unless one is truly against trying the other side once in a while. For my part, I don't care if I'm PKed while living, just for being an FUer. If I'm alive, it's because someone randomly stuck me and I'll be doing one of two things - Either relaxing and partying with my friends at the Garniss building, or making harmanz suffer in every way possible, including but not limited to PKing, GKing, RKing, cade-bashing, and general torment of innocent victims. Great Suburb Group Massacre 2010

All suburb wiki pages are undergoing a clean up to remove inactive groups from the group listing (see here: this suburb's groups). If you are a group currently listed in this suburb, you will be contacted on your group's talk page within the next few days and asked to reply, indicating that you are active in this suburb. We're posting here in the hopes that more groups will be aware of the clean up and can respond appropriately, since our team does not have the time nor the manpower to seek out every group in-game or track down its group members elsewhere on the wiki. If you know that some groups in your suburb do not check the wiki, please be a good neighbor and let them know that they NEED to check it for this, or else they will be unlisted in the near future.
