Description

The Mapstone Building is a large apartment building located in the suburb of Pescodside. Built in 1947, the Mapstone Building went down in infamy when in 1967 police stormed the building and arrested its owner, Mr. Randall Fisp. Much to the shock of local residents Fisp was charged with 23 accounts of first degree murder, all of which took place at the very apartment building he owned, the Maptsone Building. Newspapers, like the Daily Malton, sensationalized the story nicknaming the building the "Murder House". Grisly details surrounding the murders were revealed on a daily basis, along with detailed explanations about the many modifications Fisp had made to the building in order to facilitate his many years of murder. Having a formal training in construction Fisp had built-in hidden chutes into certain rooms, allowing him to kill the occupant and then dispose of their body to the basement without anyone being the wiser. Other rooms were constructed with ingenious torture mechanisms. In mid-May 1968, Fisp was found guilty on all accounts and sentenced to death. After which the apartment building was placed on auction and eventually purchased by unknown buyers.

In the months following the "Malton Incident" survivors have found that the building holds few of the deadly mechanisms that made it famous, its most recent owners having gone to great lengths to remove all reminders of the building's previous owner. Still those survivors who spend the night in the Mapstone Building often have trouble dreams, while other survivors have spent days in the building without a single nightmare. Those that are willing to speculate put the cause either at anxiety or paranoia, while others suppose the rooms themselves may play a role in whether or not the current occupant sleeps well, as not all of the rooms were involved in Fisp's murderous machinations. Of course such is not a matter of concern to most survivors these days.

Barricade Policy

This building should be Extremely Heavily barricaded at all times. This is in accordance with the mutually agreed-upon Pescodside Barricade Plan set forth by local survivor groups and the Dulston Alliance, who routinely work together to monitor that the barricades for this building are at the aforementioned level. This building is meant to serve as a safehouse for Malton's veteran survivors.

Survivors who find the building's barricades below their assigned level are asked to assist in raising them back up in order to help ensure the safety of all the survivors staying inside the building. Any survivor found lowering the barricades may be directly "put to the question" by any member of the Dulston Alliance or a vigilante-minded survivor who catches the culprit in the act. If this happens the accused survivor must present a valid reason for their actions or be labeled a zombie spy/death cultist and be judged accordingly. So always be cautious lest you find yourself summarily executed for crimes against humanity.
