The lobby of the motel is decorated with a disturbing image.  Rumor has it, the adhesive used on the mural was made from boiling the body of a notable PKr and Griefer.

The mural is 16' square, made up of sheaves of paper colored with green crayons of varying hues.  The strange adhesive gives it a glossy, lacquered appearance.

A brilliant interplay of shades of green connect to form a monstrous building.  That it is a house of worship is clear; it is only after studying it a few moments that it is recognizable as a cathedral.

But it is a lurid, disturbing image. Viewed from the ground up, it is heavily solarized.  The angles are nauseatingly wrong.  Odd, shadowy figures can be glimpsed from the corner of the eye, but disappear when one looks directly at them.  The viewer's gaze is drawn to the entrance, covering the center of the piece, where the doors hang open like a zombie's slack jaw.  The green of the apeture is almost black, and the hairs on the back of the head rise… there is a distinct sensation of being drawn inexorably into that jade blackness, and worse, there is the sense that some… thing… is inside waiting to pounce, to devour, to tear at the soul.
The place has a lived-in feel, despite first appearances. Children's toys litter the concrete apron of the pool, and the air often carries the scent of charcoal and grilling burgers.

Description

The Mart Motel stands behind a concrete wall, one of its nicer features. The wall, some six feet tall, encloses a courtyard that might have been attractive once, but is now overgrown, the hedges rising above the surrounding wall. The smell of chlorine is strong in the air through the short summer, and surprisingly enough the small pool, though only half full, is kept fairly clean. Stairs lead up to a balcony at either end of the building, and multicolored doors stagger the plain white-and freshly repainted- stucco walls.

The place has a lived-in feel, despite first appearances. Children's toys litter the concrete apron of the pool, and the air often carries the scent of charcoal and grilling burgers.

Barricade Policy

The Mart Motel [30,28] is listed in the Eastonwood Barricade Plan as an EHB building.
