Moved Assylum request to A/D 01:03, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
Is there an 'unused files' deletion criterion? If so, what is it? (Want to know so I can start filing requests for the deletion of unused images.) 18:48, 3 November 2007 (UTC)
Alright if we add "character-specific pages that have been moved to the corresponding 'User:' or 'Journal:' page" to the SD criteria?--'STER 22:12, 29 Nov 2005 (GMT)
:As long as it's specifically stated that they had to have been moved (although, this may come under the underused redirect criteria already, as a note) -- Odd Starter 01:28, 30 Nov 2005 (GMT)
Dunno why redirects would ever need to be deleted. --LouisB3 03:24, 30 Nov 2005 (GMT)
:If they aren't being used, why would they need to be around? Many redirects are useful tools for helping people retrieve the information they are looking for, however if a redirect isn't being linked from anywhere, there's a good argument for say that the redirect isn't needed, and is wasting database entries. -- Odd Starter 03:50, 30 Nov 2005 (GMT)
Okay, I didn't know there was any limit to database entries. --LouisB3 20:57, 30 Nov 2005 (GMT)
::Well, there isn't technically, but database entries still take up hard disk space on the server. Redirects only make the tiniest amount, but considering that every edit also adds a database entry, these can add up. -- Odd Starter 22:46, 30 Nov 2005 (GMT)
If this is in the wrong place I apologize, but I'm not sure where else to address this. Why was the Ridleybank Animal Rescue page deleted? There is not even a trace of its existence. I have been seething about this for a few months but did not see a good place to bring up the issue. It was a legitimate guild page with updates and active agents in Malton, I haven't bothered replacing it because I figured the whole thing would get zapped again. Whats up with this??? -- Kielios
:It was deleted in late June for the reason of being inactive, low content group page. Or something like that. ==Adbot pages==
(Not sure whether this is the right place for this) I would like to propose a change to the speedy deletions policy that lets a mod delete any adbot created pages w/o going through the speedy deletions page. ::::Odd Starter let the adbot created pages he listed sit on Speedy Deletions until Brizth came and deleted them. Does his opinion differ on this, or did he simply get caught up in something else? 07:19, 17 May 2006 (BST)

Exempting Group Pages
I think that Group Pages should be exempt from being speedy deleted unless they are being put up by the users who actually maintain the page. Speedydelete is just too quick, and those who don't often edit their pages are just the ones that wont know how to find the undeletions page.
They should be sent to be voted on in the deletions page, and the deletions template placed on them, at least then those who are active in-game, but not on the wiki, have a good chance of being stopped from being deleted by wiki users who know they're still playing -- boxy T L PA DA 06:55, 9 December 2006 (UTC)
:This is the perfect kind of things to take to M/PD--you can get other users to hash out the idea then bring it to a vote.  Ain't bureaucracy grand?  Personally, if you're talking about crit twelve, I think that the conditions are plenty narrow that if the group is still active anywhere at all they won't meet it.  But then again, AH managed to get made historical even though they're still running around kicking Zack's ass, so who knows?--'STER-<font size="-3">Talk-Mod</font>P! 16:03, 9 December 2006 (UTC)
::I hate to disagree with you, 'STER, but in the past week I've seen several active groups get their pages deleted under Crit 12; some were undeleted when members noticed and objected, some haven't been undeleted yet.  One example was the Malton Marshals, who will never show up on the stats page because their members' profiles all read Malton Police Department.  I'm surprised they didn't s/d MFU too, for the same reasons.  There are a lot of people who play the game and maybe run a forum or whatever to coordinate their small group, but don't spend much time on the wiki for whatever reason.

I was very suprised that no one contacted me before taking liberties with my page.  Our Group is very active within the M@F and most of our operational updates are on their wiki page.  Still, the Black Blocs talk page had been reciently edited by me, and so i am quite perplexed as to why I wasn't contacted and why you guys just go off and delete my work assuming we are inactive, but without contacting us to see if we were here...If you have the deleated material, please put it back or i will report you for vandalism--Lorosidiotas 23:39, 19 December 2006 (UTC)

Hello, I'm Swordbeast of the TMU.
I just noticed that our Wiki-entry is considered for speedy deletion. Please don't, we're still here. We haven't had a lot of activity lately but we're not yet gone.
Should that deletion request have another reason, please let us know so we can clear up the situation.

Zombie Inc stay of execution request
I think the page is funny and still has value. The group is long defuct, and I only know of 3 players still active in any respect. Still, speedy deletion is a sad fate. Perhaps a bid for Historical Status? I did not want to nominate it myself, but if someone from the deletion team would do so I'd appreciate it greatly. If it gets a fair trial there, and still doesn't make it then delete away with my blessing. bbrraaiinnss 1450, 15 Feb. 2007 (GMT)

Crit 12 or Crit 7?
Ive been wondering about what deletion queue to use for groups that have disbanded and either wiped their page or replaced it with a message about their disbandedment. Do these pages fall under Crit 7 or Crit 12, and if it is a Crit 12 do we have to wait the month for the page to fall under the unedited timespan of the Crit 12 ruling or can it be label for a crit 12 speedy delete right away? Vantar 20:45, 24 February 2007 (UTC)
:The way I've been interpreting it, if a group page falls under any of the other criterion, I do them straight off (without the wait), especially wiped by author pages, which fall under Crit 1. If there's simply a message saying the group has disbanded without affecting the page content, or specifically saying "delete this", then that's not really a (crit 7) deletion request in itself, so I figure we've got to wait until they qualify for Crit 12 -- boxy T L ZS Nuts2U DA 03:07, 26 February 2007 (UTC)

I would like to be able to speedy delete merged location pages, as they are no longer recommended by the LSG and deleting them at A/D clogs up the system by requiring a vote on each individual page; however, none of the current criteria fit this situation. D.A.R.I.S,

These guys have been vandalizing the D.A.R.I.S. page for a while so they're trying to be clever and get around it by creating this. Annun would like to say "While I do greave the loss of Stickling mall, don't you think my problem might be the whole, "Stay out of shearbank or die thing?" Or did that slip your mind? but he has been ban hammered for "no official reason"--Slift 16:09, 10 August 2007 (BST)

He was **not** banned for no official reasons. He was constantly vandalising a group page in this wiki. As much as he might dislike any group in here and disagree with their tactics, this doesnt give him right to vandalize their pages. He will be back in 20h, and i hope he learnt his lesson by them --People's Commissar Hagnat [cloned] [mod] 18:29, 10 August 2007 (BST)

Personally, I think that the DARIS page should be rolled back and protected. He can make a "DARIS (2007)" page if he wants, but I happen to know that this isn't the "true" DARIS back; it's some guy who may or may not have been a goon trying to capitalize on their name and what it represents. There are no threads on SA about this, so it's not the DARIS we all know and love. This would be like me making a group called "The Gingerbread Men." There is precedent in the wiki for this - even from the old DARIS core - with the Council of Leaders pages.--Jorm 19:55, 10 August 2007 (BST)

DARIS is historical and protected already, this is D.A.R.I.S The preceding signed comment was added by boxy (talkcontribs) at 01:56 11 August 2007 (BST)

That would be kinda pointless as it only takes one keep vote for it to have go to Deletion and by the fact that someone posted in the first place shows that at least one person would vote keep but if you really want one go for it other wise just go through Deletion- Vantar 02:37, 22 August 2007 (BST)

While DDR may have been abbreviated much it's not used as a redirect much. Same with AHLG, Gnome had more links than both of them, and it only have about 6-7.--Karekmaps?! 04:15, 25 October 2008 (BST)
Like I've said, it's not just about how many pages link to it, it's about the usage in the search bar, which I use daily.--Nallan (Talk) 04:17, 25 October 2008 (BST)
So convince DDR to put the letters in his sig. It'll get you to him about as fast. Or not. . . But, it's not hard to remember the nick, you've known it longer than I have.--Karekmaps?! 04:20, 25 October 2008 (BST)
I used gnome regularly in the search, and when i linked to him it was a LOT easier to go gnome than the alternative. I would happily have just that or AHLG, but getting rid of both and removing the places that do link to them seems pointless. Unless you plan on following me around the wiki and turning my gnomes into User:A Helpful Little Gnomes ? I just don't see why this need to go. People use them! Shouldn't that be enough?--xoxo 04:24, 25 October 2008 (BST)

New Crit?

I would like to be able to speedy delete merged location pages, as they are no longer recommended by the LSG and deleting them at A/D clogs up the system by requiring a vote on each individual page; however, none of the current criteria fit this situation. How would one go about getting a new criterion added to the current list? Does it require a vote somewhere? --Pestolence(talk) 20:22, 9 May 2009 (BST)

Crit 1 No Content: The page contains no more than a line or two of content that cannot clearly be expanded, consists of random or incoherent content, or is duplicated elsewhere to no purpose. Pages created by Spambots typically fall under this category. If you've moved all the original content to individual pages surely this will suffice? --RosslessnessWant a Location Image? 20:32, 9 May 2009 (BST)
Thanks, Ross! I'm so used to using that crit for blank pages that I missed that. I'll use that in future. --Pestolence(talk) 20:43, 9 May 2009 (BST)

Question

Question on categories such as this one; if a category only has one article, and the article is the same name as the category, does that apply to either deletion page? --Haliman - Talk 05:17, 28 November 2009 (UTC)

You could probably nuke the category page under Crit 1/borderline Crit 4. Cyberbob  Talk  05:19, 28 November 2009 (UTC)
Remove the category from Countryside (East) because it's already part of the Borehamwood category and it's safe to say that suburbs of the other cities shouldn't go by the normal categorisation rules as Malton. Then the category will be a Crit 4. --DANCEDANCEREVOLUTION-- 06:38, 28 November 2009 (UTC)
I can't find the category text anywhere on the page... o.o --Haliman - Talk 16:33, 28 November 2009 (UTC)
It's autoincluded by this template. Unfortunately there's no easy way to take it off, without messing with all the other b'wood suburbs, as far as I can see -- boxy talkteh rulz 16:37 28 November 2009 (BST)
You could probably just copy the code onto the page and edit it from there. It'd look a bit messier in the edit window but you wouldn't have to worry about it being in the category. Cyberbob  Talk  16:39, 28 November 2009 (UTC)
What if I edited out the <includeonly></includeonly>? Would that work? --Haliman - Talk 16:43, 28 November 2009 (UTC)
Yes, but it would also remove all the categories from the other suburbs as well. Go talk to Ross about it, perhaps -- boxy talkteh rulz 17:04 28 November 2009 (BST)
Alright, will do; thanks. --Haliman - Talk 17:08, 28 November 2009 (UTC)

The reason is verrrry verrrrrry simple, and should be easily understood if you can manage to get through half the bile. -- ϑanceϑanceevolution 01:40, 2 June 2011 (BST)
