Ellinor was in math class at Bealey Boulevard School when news of the outbreak reached Chancelwood.
Desperate to escape the panic that had engulfed the school, and not wanting to risk the long trek to her family's home ( a beautiful, 70's style double wide trailer at the Hird Grove Mobile Home Community, Hird Grove, Lamport Hills) she holed up in the nearest building; Cradock Row Fire Station, this action would later influence her to join the Malton Fire Department.
She stayed there for some months but desperate for food that was not firehouse chili, and running low on scotch, she headed out alone armed with only a fire axe and a radio and lived a nomadic lifestyle, moving from one safehouse to another throughout northern Malton without purpose until one day she found a flyer for the MFD and joined the academy.
