Barricade and Reclamation Unit (BRU)
Abbreviation: BRU
Group Numbers: Classified
Leadership: Steven Faer
Goals: To create a line of resistance for the humans to rally around
Recruitment Policy: post on the forums at http://barricadeunit.proboards102.com/index.cgi

Goal

The goal of the Barricade and Reclamation Unit is to create a line of defense for human players to rally around. Suburb by suburb, the BRU plans to create a haven for newer plays to stay safe, including safe houses, medical help, and dedicated people between them and the zombies.

However, the MBF (main barricade front) will not only help the newer members, but give the older members a place to rally and stage offensive attacks. Any area within BRU control should be considered safe for travel and will allow players to move about freely to where they would like to go.

In time, we hope to move the MBF to into or near zombie territory, where we can be the first line of defense.

Strategies

Stage 1: Choose a starting suburb (Completed, New Arkham)

Stage 2: Sweep the area of any zombies that can be found, clearing it for the barricade builders. (To be Done)

Stage 3: Set up a main safehouse in the center of the suburb, using it as a base of operations. (To be Done)

Stage 4: Send barricade builders to the edge of the suburb, setting up barricades along the edge, leaving a few safe zones for survivors to enter. Safe zones will be closely guarded in case a zombie attempts to enter. (To be Done)

Stage 5: Once zone is secure, move in medical teams to care for the wounded or injured, along with military personell to man the edges of the MBF. (To be Done)

Stage 6: Begin expansion into adjacent suburbs, starting again at Stage 1.

Lock and Sweep Policy

This has yet to be implemented, but it could be useful in the reclaiming of a taken suburb. This must be done in an organized effort if you plan to clear out all of the zombies in the area. However, if you're fine with some fleeing or wandering away, this can be done in stages.

Anyone with the Construction skill will set up heavy barricades in an square pattern (possibly the following the edges of the suburb)and lock the zombies in that suburb inside. There are areas that can't be barricaded, but those areas can be watched by Military class players, making all escape routs for zombies a killing zone.

Once the area is blocked off from the rest of Malton, Military class players can sweep through the area and remove any remaining zombies. This tactic keeps out zombie reinforcements (to an extent. They will at least have to spend AP breaking the barriers or fighting through the kill zones, and by then the interior crews can either assist at the kill zones or continue their sweep.

Drawbacks: Though this policy keeps out zombie reinforcements, it also limits survivor help as well. And, it may not work in areas where the zombie concentration in large. Also, a large force is needed to pull this off, and it will require a constant flow of communication, and help from all groups.

After that, find the nearest section of the BRU and help out as needed. The leaders of the BRU should be aronud to direct you to the areas that need the most attention.

Also, if you are in New Arkham and have any extra spray cans or the tagging skill, please add either this URL, the URL of the forums, or a general message about the BRU. So far, the Comitty Row Fire Station has been tagged.
