Redirect

I'm pretty sure I've discussed this a while back and there was a consensus in agreement with the idea of making this image a redirect to Help:Contents#Posting_in_talk_pages. Sweet. Yeh the basic discussion was that the image is used in a few different templates which instruct people to sign there comments. And it's natural for someone to click on the image to find out more about it, since the image is somewhat unusual. If the image redirects to the help content about signing your posts, then it serves to be more informative. I really can't see any downside to this. Haha wow what a cluster fuck. We have two duplicate images on the wiki for the same basic thing and both of them are on hundreds of pages. This explains why I remembered this conversation going down, we already dealt with it on the other image. It would be a worthwhile unmerging task to convert them all to one and then delete the redundant image. I could tackle it in the next couple of days if no one wants a shot at it. I'd propose keeping the Image:Button sig.png since it appears to work in Misanthropy's browser. Btw, what browser are you using?--_GANG Giles Sednik _CAPD 21:27, 8 December 2010 (UTC)

Okay well I just tested this image in firefox, safari and ie and the redirect appears to be working. It must have been a problem with the page being protected? In which case I'd recommend not protecting it. I can't imagine why anyone would upload over the sign.png file, and if it ever got messed up it's easy enough to replace by grabbing a screenshot of the image while editing any page. I'm going to go ahead and move all the links for image:button sig.png over to image:sign.png because it strikes me as a more straightforward name.--_GANG Giles Sednik _CAPD 13:46, 10 December 2010 (UTC)
