Description

The Fluck Library is located in the suburb of Hollomstown. The library is the repository for the documents of the eponymous freedom movement (FLUCk), the Freedom-Loving United Crowbankers, which felt it safer to keep their files here rather than in their war-torn home suburb.

This is a classical Victorian brick building, with severe lines and a heavy oak door. The interior boasts fine wood panelling, now sadly somewhat gnawed by visitors.

In the late nineties it was part of a restoration program for the cultural buildings of Malton, and received some three million pounds' worth of Lottery funding, but the old foreboding atmosphere still remains in places.

History

Possibly inspired by the library's name, Lord Peter Alner, owner and builder of Alner Mansion decreed in his last will that upon his death, which occurred in the Great Fire of 1912, his very large collection of exotic pornography from all ages and corners of the world be donated to the Fluck Library. It was kept in locked glass cabinets to avoid theft, but since the zombie outbreak most of these cabinets have been smashed and emptied. The only remains of the collection are stray leaves of French or Japanese nude woodcuts.
The building is renowned throughout Malton for its amusing resemblance to the word "Fuck". Prior to the outbreak local residents would steal the letter L off all signs relating to the library leaving a trail of signs reading "F uck Library" throughout Hollomstown. Such actions cost the library hundreds of dollars a year, as well as its credibility in literary circles.

Graffiti

Let's face it: Fluck Library lends itself as a prime target for young hooligans armed with spraycans. In honour of Fluck and all that it symbolises, here follows a list of the different tags found in and around Fluck Library.

Somebody has spraypainted...

  • "oh fluck, i forgot my flucking library card"
  • "go fluck yourself"

...onto a wall.

Feel free to add more classic tags (real or otherwise).
