Basic Info:

  • Multi-story housing blocks. Windows can be jumped from to turn a character into a zombie.
  • Towers have no internal descriptions. Some towers, like Lerwill Towers in Greentown, have mobile phone masts mounted on them.
A "hilarious" novelty sign which somehow still remains in the grounds surrounding Howard Towers

Howard Towers is an apartment block in the north-west corner of Judgewood. Constructed in the 1960s by the local council to house its tenants, this building was typical of its kind - a hulking concrete high-rise which quickly lost its modernistic charm and came to be regarded as an eyesore on Judgewood's skyline.

Because of its distance from the nearest police station, the area became rife with crime and anti-social behaviour. Evenings would be filled with the smashing of bottles, the yelling of drunken yobs, and the screech of stolen cars' tyres as they were doughnutted in the nearby car park. Elderly residents were forced to barricade themselves indoors, making their lives a misery but standing them in good stead when the zombie menace hit the city. Unemployment was a problem too - some of the Towers' residents worked at the nearby factories and warehouses, but many remained on the dole right up until the Malton Incident.

One characteristic of its people was their love of cheap novelty decorations, such as the myriad of "Please Stop Here Santa!" signs which would adorn many balconies during the festive season. This continued even after the zombie outbreak when "No Pinatas" signs somehow found their way into the local shops. Although many have been wrecked, some still remain intact to this day as a defiant gesture to the undead hordes.

Barricade Policy

According to the Judgewood Barricade Plan, Howard Towers should be kept extremely heavily barricaded to ensure the safety of its residents against intruders... just like it was before the zombies came to town.
