Abbreviation: KNW
Group Numbers: 55
Leadership: Established by Vernon Greer and Hillary Pratt
Goals: Return Kempsterbank to the survivors
Recruitment Policy: Subscribe to the Yahoo group, and adhere to the group goals
Contact: KNW Yahoo Group

This organisation aims to establish and maintain a safe haven for human survivors in Kempsterbank. The group was established on 03 October 2005 by Vernon Greer and Hillary Pratt, two area survivors. Aims of the Kempsterbank Neighbourhood Watch include providing safe havens for humans by barricading essential buildings only to Very Strong, conducting regular patrols of the area and sharing intelligence with other human survivors.

NB: The KNW is going through a period of inactivity. Resources such as the Zombometer, Danger Level and revive points are receiving sporadic attention at best from KNW members. As such don't expect information on this page to be upto date. (Sidenote: The Knights Templar are a more active group in Kempsterbank.)

Recruitment

The KNW is open to any survivor in the Kempsterbank area. All that is required to join is to send a message to the group contact, followed by your character profile. All members of the KNW have Kempsterbank Neighbourhood Watch (note spelling) in the group affiliation section of their character profile, and a marker of some kind in their character description (ie 'KNW' on a baseball cap, back of a jacket or on a shirt)

Danger Level

The KNW keeps a close eye on the Zombie activity of the suburb, and makes this information available to all survivors in Kempsterbank.

Today's Danger level is:

Zombie Danger Extreme.jpg

Legend:
Zombie Danger Low.jpg Low: Minimal if any Zombie Activity. Single Zombies, or small groups (2 zombies) scattered through the suburb.
Zombie Danger Moderate.jpg Moderate: Several small groups (1-5 zombies)scattered through the suburb.
Zombie Danger High.jpg High: Many groups of Zombies and large numbers of bodies (approx 50-80 zombies).
Zombie Danger Very.jpg Very High: Multiple groups of Zombies. Buildings overrun, under attack, or breached. Multple casualties waiting at revive points.
Zombie Danger Extreme.jpg Extreme: Suburb overrun with Zombies 100+ Zombies. Multiple buildings constantly attacked and overrun. 50+ casualties waiting at revive points.

The Zombometer To aid our members, and any other survivors, one of our esteemed members has created The Zombometer! Following suspected misuse of the zombometer it can now only be updated by KNW members. We will do our best to keep it as up to date as possible. Feel free to use this valuable resource! It has current information on zombie activity at each building and street of Kempsterbank, and also a reasonable indication of the barricading level of buildings (essential for the survivor on the run!)

Safe Buildings

The KNW strives to keep buildings accessible to survivors without free running. To this end, the policy is to keep all bar a few buildings at Very Strongly Barricaded only. Safe houses are provided at stronger levels for those with Free Running. We support the Uniform Barricading Policy.

In general, essential service buildings such as Police Departments and Hospitals will be kept at VS only. Other buildings will be kept at various levels depending on zombie activity. The present desired barricade levels are shown in the Kempsterbank Barricade Plan.

Perviously noted 'Safe houses' may not be anymore, so be careful when you are looking for a safe place to sleep, lest you be left out in the street as a meal for the zombies.

NOTE: You can ALWAYS leave a building that has been heavily barricaded: This is from the main UrbanDead Wiki under "barricades - 1.4 Exiting Barricaded Buildings:

"Exiting barricaded buildings is always possible. Buildings barricaded up to and including very strongly can be exited either by clicking the 'Leave Building' button or by clicking an adjacent square. Even if the player does not have free running, buildings that are barricaded to any level of heavily can be exited simply by clicking an adjacent square. Some interpret this as leaving by a hidden side-door, or climbing out the window of the floor above."

Revive Points

The following area(s) are designated as revive zone(s). St Luke's Church [59, 78] and Ware Walk [51, 74]. Our allies, the Knights Templar, also run a revive point at Ebbutt Road [57,76]. Not all residents of Kempsterbank are willing to revive zombies, so you may have to die a few times before being revived. Both of these points will be tagged by members of the Neighbourhood Watch, and pointers will be placed inside Necrotech buildings so that other players will know where to go for revives.

Unfortunately, some career zombies also wait at revive points - so scanning unknown zombies at revive points with a DNA Extractor may reveal if they have brain rot (brain rot = career zombie = shoot on sight).

All members of the Neighbourhood Watch should add the other members to their contacts list, so you can recognise each other if you become a zombie.

Non-Members of the Neighbourhood watch may also use the revive points.

Revive List

To combat the increasing number of zombies with Brain Rot camping on the revive points and wasting syringes, we will only revive those people who give us their profile, either by using the DEM Revive Tool , or if we happen to collect your Mrh? at the revive point. There are too many rotters camping, and 30AP is way too much to waste on a career zombie.

While most members of the KNW are willing to revive whomever needs help, a growing number of all the games revivers are refusing to revive those who die stupidly - for example if you sleep in a police department or hospital. 30 AP is a lot to waste on someone who's going to be dead next week.

Ware Walk is the main revive point being maintained by the KNW. Our allies the Knights Templar also run an efficient revive point at Ebbutt Road.

I don't want to join the KNW...

Don't worry. You don't bother us. But there are still things that you can do to help keep us keep the neighbourhood safe, and you don't have to join.

1. Kill any zombies you see in the suburb. Kill them. Then kill them again. They may get the hint eventually. Tell other survivors about them (see point 2).

2. At the end of your turn, report any zombie activity you see in Kempsterbank, to the other survivors in your building. There are many of us around, and we may just be in there with you.

3. Heal your neighbours. It's worth XP and you're preventing infection.

4. Keep an eye on Barricades. We have had several zombie attacks that have left buildings wide open with survivors inside. If you see any barricades which are below Very Strong, feel free to top them up. Please don't overbarricade essential services buildings (ie Hospitals and Police Departments).

5. Don't get caught outside if you can possibly help it. It is dangerous for you and it attracts zombies looking for an easy meal.

Known PKers and Zombie Spies

The following characters have been identified as either PKers or Zombie Spies. Note, just having zombie skills does not make someone a spy. They have to be activiely caught compromising buildings or attacking survivors. Zombies caught camping on the revive points will also be put here so they can be recognised and executed on sight.

If you are on this list and wish to refute your status, please contact us and we will explain why you made this list. If your case for innocence is good enought, you will be removed. Potential Zombie spies will be monitored and possibly have the allegations of spying rejected.

This is a public service for all members of Kempsterbank.

Current Events

19 August 2007

The KNW has become highly inactive. As far as I know I'm the only active member on group contact board. Any survivors navigating to this page looking for a new group should check-out our offical allies The Knights Templar. The KNW is not yet a defunct group - we have would-be active members off on other projects (defending malls, seeing how the other half live, taking a break from the game etc) - but for now we're out of action. - David Malfisto 21:03, 19 August 2007 (BST)
[Edit]
As a side-note, we're switching to radio frequency 27.55 to bring us into line with our allies working in Kempsterbank. - David Malfisto 21:19, 19 August 2007 (BST)

21 June 2007

More zombies have been spotted in past few days, someone has updated the suburbs map and changed Kempsterbank to Very Dangerous. So be on the look out for a supposedly large zed horde coming in this direction. also people have overbarricaded some of the VS+2's --00:55, 21st June 2007 (GMT)

9 May 2007

The zeds seem to have melted back into the woodwork from whence they came. Kempsterbank is once again a decent place to pursue existance as a survivor. A big shout of thanks to our allies the Knights Templar; it would never have happened without you! --Poison Ivy 00:44, 10 May 2007 (BST)

22 April 2007

Well, Kempsterbank is a right mess at the moment. The SW corner of the suburb is under heavy attack, particularly Jillard NT and Burdett Way PD. There is a very long queue at the Ebbutt Road revive point, and the survivors are barely holding their own. Remember, 1) 'Cade 2) Kill 3) Dump 4) Heal! --15:50, 22 Apr 06 (EST)

Archived News

08 February 2006

The KNW, tired of the infestation of zombies in the suburb began an offensive to take it back. A coordinated attack on the dead outside the Jilliard Building killed 20 zombies and put the building back in the hands of survivors. In general, Zombie activity seems to be falling off, resulting in the danger level being reduced from Very High to Moderate. More coordinated attacks are planned for the next few days- and plans to clear the revive points have been put into action. -- 02:34, 9 Feb 2006 (GMT)

12 February 2006

While the revive pionts seem to have been cleared, there are gathering numbers of Zombies outside Neot Geneal Hospital(15) and Barnard Way Police Department (30). Danger level has been reviesed to High.- 03:39, 12 Feb 2006 (GMT)
13 Feb 2005 - Zombie activity seems to have dropped off dramatically. Revised danger level to Low. -- 03:23, 14 Feb 2006 (GMT)

22 February 2006

Zombie acitvity has dropped to almost nil. Silence echoes through the streets of the suburbs- groaning barely audible from far off streets. Has the zombie horde really moved on, or is this only the eye of the storm? --03:48, 22 February 2006 (GMT)

24 February 2006

Lots of flare action arround the Burdett Way Police Dept, baracades also attacked. Titus General Hospital under (a small) attack & Z spy suspicion. Keep your guard up. --12:33, 24 February 2006 (GMT) (David Malfisto - not an offical member) [Edit 25/2] As of 10:30 today the Neot General Hospital [53, 72] was broken into. Doors wide open, 5 Zs inside. I may be a newb with no idea what the proper protocol is, but this isn't what I'd call "safe".

04 April 2006

There now appears to be a major zombie assault moving through the south-east of the suburb. Dozens of zombies have been spotted and fought outside Burdett Way Police Dept, Julie General Hospital and the Jillard Building. Lower, but still disturbing levels of zombie activity have been observed in the north-west of the suburb. A general call has been sent out to any and all survivors in the district to come to Kempsterbank and help fight off these hordes. --10:58, 4 April 2006 (BST)

10 April 2006

It's official: we're heavily in the crap in Kempsterbank. There are at least two major zombie hordes in our suburb causing problems. These groups are:

- da Shamblin' Waagh
- The Devivification Experts of Malton (DEM)

The DEM appear to be a good old fashioned, experienced zombie horde. The Shamblin' Waagh, on the other hand, appear to use human spies and scouts. Kudos to both groups for causing some excellent havoc. --Cthulhu 14:28, 10 April 2006 (BST)
