The quarantine wall was put up by the military in June '05, right after the BIKINI state was announced. It quickly evolved from a small wire fence to a massive concrete blockade, adorned by guard towers, mine fields, and barbed wire.

Oh? You want a picture? Last time I got close enough to take a picture, I was out of film, and I couldn't get close again without being shot at. However, I like to think I am just as good at taking pictures as I am at drawing.

(OOC- For the sake of saving Kevan a couple cents with storage fees, I hosted the image off-site. Enjoy. Link)

Several theories about how the virus is spread are out there. Many seem to think it can only be transmitted is with a zombie bite, the virus evolving from the resulting infection. Others believe that the virus is transmitted through the air, meaning that anyone who has been in Malton is at risk, no matter how healthy they keep themselves. I prefer the first theory, because then the wall was put up to keep the zombies out, rather than just to keep us quiet.

In any case, the military has done a good job of keeping the city locked up. If only they had done a better job with the evacuation...
