Under the Defense Authorization Act of 2011, the Malton Department of Defense has created the DEFCON system. The DEFCON or defense readiness condition is an alert posture used by all MDD forces. The DEFCON system has five graduated levels of readiness (or states of alert), and increases in severity from DEFCON 5 (least severe) to DEFCON 1 (most severe) to match varying military conditions in Malton.
