Description

Newcombe Towers is a 28-story condominium tower located in the suburb of Pescodside.

Newcombe Towers, one of four condos constructed during the CityPlace Condo Project.

Built during the CityPlace Condo Project, construction for Newcombe Towers started in 1995 and was completed 2 1/2 years later making it the first of five condominiums constructed to help revitalize dropping property values in Dulston, Pescodside, and Brooksville. The other four condominiums being Wyld Towers and Morliere Towers in Pescodside, Roadnight Towers in Dulston, and Mattick Towers in Brooksville. Advertising for the new condominiums varied, but the strategy marketed for Newcombe Towers involved a series of TV spots on the "Home & Garden" Channel, a channel known to be watched by propective home buyers, wherein the commercials depicted the condominium while a seductive female voice said: "Revel in breathtaking, unobstructed city views. Cocoon in suites designed for paramount comfort and livability. Newcombe Towers offers some of the best and most unique amenities in Malton, including: indoor swimming pool, indoor gold simulator, internet lounge, basketball court, massage spa, aerobics studio, bowling lanes, billiards tables, and much, much more. So give in to temptation and live at Newcombe Towers... because you deserve the satisfaction."

While condo sales in all five buildings went reasonably well in the following months the project did not turn out to be the success city councilors and the condo corporation had hoped it would be. Further attempts to improve sales were cut short by the "Malton Incident", with the subsequent evacuation putting an end to any further marketing strategies.

Since then most of the condos have remained vacant, although survivors staying at Newcombe Towers have taken advantage of all the condominium's amenities, often playing games of billiards or bowling. Some of the other amenities have seen better days as the pool's blood-tainted waters do not seem as inviting as they once were.

Barricade Policy

This building should be Very Strongly (VS+2) barricaded at all times. This is in accordance with the mutually agreed-upon Pescodside Barricade Plan set forth by local survivor groups and the Dulston Alliance, who routinely work together to monitor that the barricades for this building are at the aforementioned level. This building is meant to serve as a shelter for Malton's inexperienced survivors and entry point into other nearby fortified buildings.

Survivors who find the building's barricades below their assigned level are asked to assist in raising them back up in order to help ensure the safety of all the survivors staying inside the building. Any survivor found lowering the barricades may be directly "put to the question" by any member of the Dulston Alliance or vigilante-minded survivor if caught in the act. If this happens the accused survivor is required to present a valid reason for their actions or be labeled a zombie spy/death cultist and be judged accordingly. So always be cautious lest you find yourself summarily executed for crimes against humanity.

Survivors are reminded that should any member of the Dulston Alliance who finds the barricades raised higher that Very Strongly without any apparent danger to the building or area they have the authority to lower the barricades back down to Very Strongly in order to restore access to the building from the outside.
