Suggestion description
This was suggested by myself in 'Talk' and i think it would be pretty cool if this were to be implimented.
Anyway the idea is that when you send a text to someone in your contacts, currently you don't know if your friend has recieved it, so i propose that you get sent a text message back to you saying whether or not the message has been delivered.
Possible suggestions for it being delivered (Yes).
- Your message has been delivered (Timestamp)
- Success, your message has reached your contact (Timestamp)
- Message delivered (Timestamp)
Or if it's not delivered due to friend being dead or their suburb not having a signal.
- Message undeliverable will send as soon as possible (Timestamp)
- Unfortunatley your message could not be delivered at this time, will try again soon (Timestamp)
- Message Error, Contact unavialable, sending when possible. (Timestamp)
As soon as the message is delivered, one of the 'yes' messages would be sent to you.
These 'reports' could be changed to say what suburb your friend is currently in, however i'm not sure whether that is a feasable idea. Also i think it would be nice if these 'reports' would be different to add flavor.
It has been suggested that a report is sent and you do not waste an AP but the message isn't sent. But Personally i'm not sure how people would react to an AP saver. As a survivor i think it would be very useful (with or without AP saving) and nice to have as an improvement, my real phone has it so i don't see why my UD shouldn't.

- Keep - I could see this working. Oh, and if you put the little hash symbol (#) before your vote, it counts the votes, making it easier to total up. I did it for you this time. --Seventythree 23:14, 4 September 2007 (BST)
- Keep - Would save AP by preventing you sending repeated messages to a contact who is in a no-signal area, or has thrown their mobile away etc. -- Pavluk 23:28, 4 September 2007 (BST)
- keep - sure. On phones today it says if the message was sent or not. =doc crook 23:31, 4 September 2007 (BST)

- Duplicate, changed my mind - As boxy--the other already sorta has this. I like the general idea but dislike duplicates; I humbly suggest you support that one as I will, since it adds more features than this and is a little more cleanly defined. --Slightly Lions 08:44, 5 September 2007 (BST)
