20080301 Rifles
Kennedyleon 21:13, 1 March 2008
Suggestion type
New weapon/firearm
Suggestion scope
Survivors
Suggestion description
A high powered Rifle. A single shot rifle in either a break or bolt action. It is more powerful than the shotgun and more accurate than the pistol or shotgun. However its power causes it to be slower to reload. Also its large size causes it to be more encumbering. Having rifles would make sence in gunstores as hunting weapons and in armorys and police stations as a sniper rifle. It would fulfill many roles as a weapon for surviving and roleplaying. Also it is no more powerful than the flare making it more fair for zombies.

Keep Votes
- keep - You get my vote because you need at least one keep, and this suggestion is getting cut up pretty bad. Oh and I "like" the idea, yes like it. That's differently the word am I looking for...sigh.......--Jamie Cantwell3 00:28, 2 March 2008 (UTC)
- keep I like the idea because it would be nice to have a rifle that kills zombies fastNo signature. --Aeon17x 01:07, 2 March 2008 (UTC)
Kill Votes
- KillThis is clearly a dupe, but I refuse to look for a link so I am killing based on the fact that it is terribly overpowered. I mean really; it is more accurate than the other guns (when fully upgraded) and causes a godly amount of damage at that. Also there is no need for yet another survivor weapon. Edit: You don't even mention magazine capacity, and how the hell does shotgun training increase rifle ability? That makes no sense.-- BKM 22:11, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
- Kill - Better than most... But not good enough. --BoboTalkClown 01:47, 2 March 2008 (UTC)
Spam/Dupe Votes
- Spam - Incomplete; lacking many details such as how much ammo a cartridge has, find rate for cartridges, etc. Also heinously overpowered. And why does Advanced Shotgun Training affect the accuracy? Also it is no more powerful than the flare making it more fair for zombies. Do flare guns have 70% accuracy? No, they have 15% accuracy. --Themanwhocares4 22:11, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
- Spam/dupe - I don't usualy vote this but 1) Overpowered (hence the spam) and 2) we msut have seen about a hundered or so rifle suggestions, hence the dupe. --SeventythreeTalk 22:41, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
- Spam _ Impossible to asses effect of without missing information such as search rates on "rifle cartridge". Also, given that no reduction to search rates for other gun types is mentioned, this is essentially a suggestion saying "survivors find powerful weapons more often". Do we really want to make people deal with balancing the weapon / ammunition supply for a third gun type? Plus, in reality, a hunting rifle does not cause more trauma than a shotgun; it just has a longer range and is better at penetrating cover (and armor). Swiers 22:48, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
- Spam - Grim said it best previously, so if I may, I'll quote him: "Ive said it before, and ill say it again. Adding a new firearm to the game results in one of two things happening: A net survivor buff, or a newbie survivor nerf. How? It all comes down to find rates. If you simply put a new weapon and ammunition on top of the existing find rates, you increase survivor power because they can find weapons and ammunition more easily, which makes them overall more powerful as they dont need to search as much to find ammunition and weaponry, especially if they have all the gun skills, which will happen sooner, rather than later. On the other hand, if you reduce the find rates for everything else gunlike, you nerf newbies who will have a harder time finding weapons and ammunition that meet their specific skill set. Also, overall, you nerf those weapons pretty hard too for everyone, since ammunition is harder to find. There is no way to impliment any new firearm without doing either of the previous, and cockup the pretty good balance for guns in the game. It simply cannot be done. Also, the dos and do nots are not kevans words, they are the words of the community, built up over several years of painstaking spamination and discussion." - Bisfan 22:54, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
