What is a K-Bar?--Seventythree 16:27, 12 June 2007 (BST)
- A K-Bar is a US Marine knife, and I think it works as a bayonet too. Also, apparently they're really sharp as my friend in the Marines sliced his arm horribly trying to see how sharp it is. Oh, and they have different sizes too, I think.--Lachryma☭ 16:32, 12 June 2007 (BST)
- Its a fighting knife made of thick, good quality carbon steel. See KA-BAR's website for more details. Suffice to say, its not really anything special beyond being a big, well made fighting knife that has a distinctive history of service. In the proper hands they could be made pretty sharp, and would certainly be lethal, but not any more so than any other heavy fighting knife of equal quality metal. Its never gonna compare to a straight razor for sharpnesss, although given the heft it will do more damage. And no, I don't see a bayonet lug in the specs- the more recent military knifes have those, but I think the USMC KA-BAR did not. --Seb_Wiers Imagine 20:06, 12 June 2007 (BST)
- Um...yeah, knives aren't my thing. All I know is that crazy Marines drag around some sort of knife called a K-bar or something.--Lachryma☭ 20:11, 12 June 2007 (BST)
- Well, now I know.... To be honest I don't think that we should give things in UD a fancy technical name like that that only a few pwople are going to know what they are. Should have just been called bayonnet. Most people know what that is.--Seventythree 23:04, 12 June 2007 (BST)
