Discussion (Last Login Time Displayed)

I like the first; it's not so much a pker buff as it is also a group buff to let leaders and commanders know if their members are active or not. I like the idea. Ioncannon11 01:20, 6 August 2008 (BST)

If they are on your contacts list and haven't logged in in a month they are crossed off. When they log back in they are uncrossed. --– Nubis 01:52, 6 August 2008 (BST)

I realize that, but if a user is not on my contacts list, then I have no idea how long it's been. --JaredTalk Aces C-Kids 01:55, 6 August 2008 (BST)

Maybe a user can request to see other user's login time? That way griefers and pkers don't know, but people who are working with each other to defend an area know who's on. Shooty08 04:41, 6 August 2008 (BST)

My log in times, if I choose to move silently and take no visible actions, are no one's business but my own. --WanYao 05:04, 6 August 2008 (BST)

Ok my bad ... knowing from looking at profile if it's idled out is a good idea! As it is, you have to add them to your contacts list to know. An Idled flag would be cool... --WanYao 05:14, 6 August 2008 (BST)

1) Have a section on profiles showing the last time that character logged in. This would show anyone who cared to know whether the profile was still active. No,it would not. You literally never have to log out from a character, unless you want to play some other character on the same computer. Even then, there's a way to have 3 logged in characters one computer, WITHOUT using proxies. Just log one in on http://www.urbandead.com and one on http://urbandead.com and one on http://85.234.156.81 Swiers 06:01, 6 August 2008 (BST)

I see what you mean. One question, since I haven't left my character inactive long enough to find out: if I leave my character logged in, but do not touch him for 5 days, will he idle out? --JaredTalk Aces C-Kids 18:57, 6 August 2008 (BST)

How about option #3: just show their MIA status directly in the profile. You can't see if they're idled out from you contacts list, so why should you see it from just the profile? --Midianian|T|T:S|C:RCS| 10:23, 6 August 2008 (BST)

So, have the name crossed out in the profile if they're MIA for a month? Not a bad idea, but I still like the idled flag better... Feedback on this, anyone? --JaredTalk Aces C-Kids 18:18, 6 August 2008 (BST)

It's a good way to know if a player is behind is computer and will defend himself if attacked. I don't know if it's a good thing... - Bug MacLock 17:23, 6 August 2008 (BST)

Re: Janine's Dupe Vote

Yes, I could do that, but there are a couple convenience problems with that:
1. There are many profiles in the game; I have a finite number of spots on my contact list, most of which are taken up by team members or KOSers, and I don't want to waste space by adding each and every player that I need the status of onto my contacts list.
2. If I get a profile from anywhere outside of the game, (Brainstock, the wiki, etc.) I will have to log in, then get the profile again, then scroll down and add it to my contacts. It would be so much easier to be able to see this information right away.

Thank you for your input on my suggestion! --JaredTalk Aces C-Kids 03:19, 7 August 2008 (BST)

If you need more than 100 you're doing it wrong or not removing people after you stop needing their information.--Karekmaps?! 03:23, 7 August 2008 (BST)
I think it would be a lot easier to just see it on the profile rather than adding, removing, then adding again. (WanYao said it a lot better than I could in his vote.) And by the way, I'm in a rather unpopular PKer group, so I do have a lot of enemies and therefore, lots (as in, a lot) of red on my contacts list. --JaredTalk Aces C-Kids 03:29, 7 August 2008 (BST)
I'm also a pker and I only keep group members, allied group members and specific targets on my list. That's not really a good reason.--Janine 13:49, 7 August 2008 (BST)

Join the RRF and grab thier MassContacts list. You'll wish you had more than 150 slots soon enough. SIM Core Map.png Swiers 21:46, 11 August 2008 (BST)

Been there, done that, didn't need over 100 because I was able to cut down the people who were inactive or who never were where I'd need their profiles.--Karekmaps?! 03:19, 12 August 2008 (BST)
That's true, and I was using a bit of hyperbole. Point being, it IS possible to find use for over 100, even over 150 contacts. A bigger zombie group with less segregated strike teams, for example. And anyhow, its a moot point; contact listing shouldn't be required to get MIA status info, because that's just a make-work step. If the info is free to aquire, make it freely available. SIM Core Map.png Swiers 05:32, 12 August 2008 (BST)
Like I said above, if you need to fill up 100 contacts you're doing something wrong. There is no point in the game you could justify needing 100 contact slots at once unless you're actually trying to max your list. If you aren't willing to at least put some effort into obtaining the information you really shouldn't have it, much less if you're just skimming links to users not in the city at all(idle flag makes you go poof). It's essentially useless to the average player, 98% of the player-base even.--Karekmaps?! 06:42, 12 August 2008 (BST)
