Please don't use the Soldiers of Crossman's templates without our permission |
This is an unauthorized use of templates designed by and for the Soldiers of Crossman. We welcome other groups to seek inspiration from our page design, but we spent many hours working on it, and we value the distinctiveness that we created for ourselves. While we cannot stop you if you are determined to use our designs, we would like to appeal to your sense of what's right, and hopefully get you to understand that you shouldn't be copying designs from other people. If you need any technical pointers on how you can make your own design, feel free to hit us up for help on the matter, since the wiki is a better place when more people know how to use it. In the meantime, we humbly request that you alter your pages to remove any elements that you borrowed from us. |

Hail SoC
My name is Magnar, and I am honored to be the King of Sparta.
Recently you may have noticed myself and my men attacking your own in Crossman PD. I would like to take this opportunity to open dialog between our two groups. First, we are attacking your group for one purpose: to put your men to the test. Its been said that you truely do not know someone until you fight them, and by this means we hope to learn more about yourselves and your group. Secondly, this is a test. In this epidemic, Malton needs the best of its citizens. There is no room for fat groups living off the strained resources we have. So hail Soldiers of Crossman, and we will see you on the field of battle.--Gus ThomasSpartaZHU 06:54, 10 June 2010 (BST)
- You do realize what we did to the last PKer group to target us, don't you? --Justin 04:24, 30 June 2010 (BST)
- Hail, Spartan!
- I'm saddened to hear of your forces attacking ours, given that we have fought alongside and revived your men during the course of some of our operations, all without incident or complaint (I'm thinking specifically of a mission we had to Judgewood a few months back, when some Spartans came through and operated out of a building we were holding at the time during a series of zombie assaults, though clearly the Spartans had different targets in mind than we did). That said, I understand your goal in attacking us, and I respect it, though I suspect you may have reached an incorrect conclusion as a result of your attacks.
- The Soldiers of Crossman consider Darvall Heights to be their ancestral home in the storm that is ravaging the city, and while our main force of coordinated brothers in arms do return there to either repair the suburb or relax after an operation, when we're out on a mission, the only members we leave behind are the sickly ones that are too ill to follow their brothers into battle (i.e. the ones that don't read the forum, stay in regular contact with the group, or follow orders).
- At the time of your attacks (and, in fact, for the last two months or so prior to now), our main force has been out on missions and away from our home suburb. Essentially, you slaughtered those that we left behind because they were too weak for battle, and I regret to say that I find little honor in that, though I can understand that you would have been unaware of the issue at the time. The members you killed off were not indicative of the group as a whole, since the majority of our group, including our most elite, was located elsewhere at the time.
- Perhaps in the future our forces can meet on the field of battle if you truly wish to test us and our mettle, though I would also eagerly look forward to standing shoulder-to-shoulder with your soldiers against common threats once again, since your prowess in battle is renowned and we respect you greatly. —Aichon— 06:16, 30 June 2010 (BST)
- Justin, I'd love to know. Do share.
- Aichon, your man Frank Burns did show initiative and informed us of the situation sometime into our campaign. Our conclusions of your group will contain a note that your best and brightest were not present during our campaign. As for earlier in Judgewood, my men were instructed to target anyone but your group, so we may gauge how you react to the PKer threat in a suburb you were operating in. No SoC was to be slain until we were attacked first, which of course never happened. We shall keep a eye out for you whenever we are around Darvall Heights, and mayhaps we can try this dance another time. Our operations in your home have since ended and we have moved on.--Gus ThomasSpartaZHU 22:54, 4 July 2010 (BST)
- I should've known Frank would be on top of things.
- Anyway, the Spartans are definitely a group we respect, and I, personally, have quite a bit of respect for them as well, given their reputation in the PKer community (to which I belong with another alt). I do hope we'll be able to spar with each other eventually. We operate almost exclusively in the northwest of Malton, so I'm sure you can find us without too much difficulty. ;) —Aichon— 01:45, 5 July 2010 (BST)
hello
do you guys need any help? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Spoook (talk • contribs) at an unknown time.
- Hello, Spoook. Your user page seems to indicate that you're a PKer, so I'm not sure exactly what sort of help you might be offering, given that we're a survivor group. Regardless, we seem to be doing okay at the moment, though we always welcome others to join us in our endeavors. —Aichon— 09:10, 16 July 2010 (BST)
- Well, Im a mercenary. Pking is just the most common thing i get asked to do. --Spoook 22:12, 19 July 2010 (BST)
- I see. Well...I'm afraid we don't really do much in the way of PKing, honestly. We tend to mostly work on repairs and reclamation of ruined suburbs. Another repairman is always welcome, but I'm afraid we wouldn't have anything for you to do in your usual line of work. —Aichon— 23:41, 19 July 2010 (BST)
- Thats perfect, for you see, if a member of your group gets PK'ed, I can take care off it, while you can deny all, thou I doubt they would connect the dots. --Spoook 04:38, 20 July 2010 (BST)
- Well, we do respond in kind when PKers give us reason to do so, and we're not shy about it since we have no reason to be. But I'm afraid this isn't really the sort of alliance that we usually involve ourselves with. We take care of our own and fight our own battles. We don't really like to hide behind others or have others fight our battles for us. That's not saying anything against you, mind you, but I just don't see this as a partnership that will work out for us. You're welcome to join us in our efforts, of course, but as far as defending us from the shadows goes, I'm afraid that's just not something we're looking for, despite what you might have to offer. —Aichon— 06:57, 20 July 2010 (BST)

Good, I'll be using your HQ to resupply, as long as there is no incidents, I'll be on my way.--Spoook 21:25, 22 July 2010 (BST)
Recruitment
Concerning your group advert on the Category:Recruitment page, you may be interested to know that a vote is currently underway concerning the duration of time adverts can be reserved by a given timestamp. Your input is welcomed, and it should be known that if this vote passes you will need to update your adverts on a at least a monthly basis, not a two-monthly basis. Thanks. 00:47, 25 July 2010 (BST)
- As is to be expected from us, we've been on top of this situation from the beginning and were already well aware of it, but thanks for the notification. —Aichon— 01:02, 25 July 2010 (BST)
The page looks great
You did a great job on it Aichon. --Justin 04:25, 4 August 2010 (BST)
- Thanks! Glad you like it. As is probably pretty obvious, I wanted it to more closely match the forum. Now that this is done, I can get started on some other wiki projects. :P —Aichon— 05:27, 4 August 2010 (BST)
Is your Radio frequency still in use?
Thanks for the Reply! | |
Thanks Bro!
Because of your timely reply, your frequency reservation will be preserved. |
I'm sorry if this is an inconvenience or it seems relatively stupid when put into context of your group, but it is our interest to treat all groups on the same level when doing these purges. A reply within 2 weeks will be greatly appreciated. -- LEMON #1 12:21, 25 August 2010 (BST)
- Okay, I'll get back to you in a few weeks, DDR. Wait...dangit. You tricked me since I just replied. Well, umm...act like you didn't hear us reply until the last minute. We like being dramatic like that. And yes, that frequency gets a LOT of use in our usual area of operations. Practically every transmitter around there is tuned to our frequency. —Aichon— 12:24, 25 August 2010 (BST)
Like to help out South Blythville?
Aww...pitty that you can't help us out, but thanks for responding. Have a cookie.

Hey there, I've sent you this because you're a survivor group. Please help us if you can, we'd really appreciate it. If you can't help physically, you can always help by spreading the word ;) -Dezonus- (talk) 10:53, 16 September 2010 (BST)
- I'm afraid we don't really operate that far south typically, and Big Bash 3 broke our home suburb while we were helping out at Blackmore, so we have our own hands full at the moment, I'm afraid. —Aichon— 08:56, 17 September 2010 (BST)
The Alford Arms
Greetings. The Oktoberfest Pub Crawl will be heading to Gatcombeton and the Alford arms within a week or so. Because of its proximity to Crossman Grove PD, I wanted to extend an invite to your members to join us for some revelry. We've got a couple of stops before we get there but we'll be sure to let you know when it gets closer. Hope to see SoC there. --~ 19:06, 29 September 2010 (BST)
- I'll let folks know you guys are on your way. Can't promise we'll be there yet, but we'll certainly look into it, since our main force is relaxing at home right now. —Aichon— 19:15, 29 September 2010 (BST)
Scavenging SoC Buildings
Hello SoC my friend came across one of your buildings the other day and got freaked out because he didn't know who you were and thought you were a PKer group so i looked you up. Do you think we could go into that build to get some supplies that would help us make our way to Caiger Mall and hopefully set up shop either there or close by. I write this because my group and I don't want to be caught in your building and killed for trespassing (my friends thoughts not mine, so what do you say? Dexta Marsh 22:59, 19 October 2010 (BST)
- We're not a PKer group, as should be obvious from our wiki page. Rather, we're one of the premiere survivor groups in Malton. We help all survivors in the area around Darvall Heights (and elsewhere too, but primarily there) by reclaiming and repairing buildings, then keeping them appropriately barricaded so that they can be used safely by survivors. Feel free to use "our" buildings freely and without reservation. We're simply advertising in them, not claiming them as no trespass zones. —Aichon— 23:03, 19 October 2010 (BST)
- Yea once I saw your wiki page I knew you were not PKer's I just asked so my friend would go and get our supplies since im out of ap atm but thanks for replying anyway and i hope you can get the whole NW corner safe someday. Oh btw Bale Mall has been taken over so if you want to go there and take it back from the zombies it could help alot of people, you don't have to it's just a suggestion. Dexta Marsh 23:11, 19 October 2010 (BST)
- Yep, we know. :) Yagoton is currently under assault by the MOB. Since the best we could do is delay them in their efforts to ruin the suburb, we generally prefer to come in afterwards and clean up, rather than taking them head-on. That said, we actually have a few other places we're working on as well at the moment, so I don't know if we'll be heading over to Yagoton or not. Plus, the local survivors in Yagoton are always very good at getting it back up and running after an attack. —Aichon— 23:15, 19 October 2010 (BST)

Registering
I couldn't find any other way of contacting you all so I had to create a UD Wiki account to post this message. I tried registering on the SoC forum, but whenever I click the 'I agree to these terms' button to begin the registration process, this error appears:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function gen_rand_string_friendly() in /home/orison/soc/forum/includes/captcha/plugins/captcha_abstract.php on line 238
Waited for a couple of days to see if it would go away, but it didn't. Can you guys fix it or are you all not recruiting or something? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Mashdptados (talk • contribs) 21:45, 23 December 2010.
- Gah...no, it's probably my fault. I made some modifications to the board about two weeks back, and it introduced some errors, some of which others are finding since I don't do things like register at the board too often. I'll see about getting it fixed up straightaway. Try again in about 12 hours, and if it still isn't working, go to this link for Mibbit and contact me on there (it's just a link to the IRC channel we use for real-time chatting). Saying my name in there should get my attention, and if it hasn't been fixed by then, hopefully we can iron it out at that point. I'm really sorry for the trouble. —Aichon— 23:38, 23 December 2010 (UTC)
- Okay, I think I ironed it out. I'm not sure exactly which modification I made changed those lines of code, but the information you gave me was enough to track down the error and replace the faulty code with working code. I was able to just register a test user, so hopefully you'll be able to register as well. Thanks again for letting me know about the problem! Who knows how long it would have gone on otherwise? —Aichon— 04:07, 24 December 2010 (UTC)
